Just browsing some shows I've torrented and found something... interesting that came with The Secret World of Alex Mack:

For some context, this is The Secret World of Alex Mack:

The chemical that gives Alex her powers, GC161, was a drug that allowed you to eat anything you want without gaining weight. Alex was showered in millions of doses' worth of the stuff. Just thought I'd mention that given the current Ozempic craze.

There's so much fucking ASCII art in the document:

This reminds me of some years back when I grabbed a language textbook off z-lib that looked normal but actually had the submitter's(?) manifesto about reptilians and secret societies inserted about 100 pages in. Pissed me off since I wasted one of my daily downloads on it.

Do you still know which one? That sounds great.
Sadly, no. I wish I'd had the foresight to hang onto it for entertainment's sake. If you felt like going on a wild goose chase, I somehow figured out the person had infested a bunch of foreign language study material with the same, but that's assuming they didn't get all reported and taken down eventually.

A FMHY janny posted some r/antiwork-esque stuff and pinned it to the front page. Pirate tranime for le heckin’ revolution, my fellow Redditors!

Living under capitalism sucks

Living under capitalism sucks and you shouldn't be afraid to say it • Feb 19

I think it's important, especially as we get older, to remember that anti-capitalist views are not something we're meant to grow out of. That's a trap so many of us fall into as we get older, and it's a big reason why things never change. It's okay to point out when things are clearly wrong or could be better, even as adults.

Capitalism leads to unhealthy lifestyles and major depression for many people living under it. It creates wars, homelessness, mass incarceration, and mass inequality. It's a system that was built to function for the 1500s, not modern times, and it's not only showing its age but also causing distress, anger, and sadness to the younger generations we're forcing it on.

It is, by definition, forced labor. None of us ever agreed to a lifetime of work. We never said we would. We were not given other options. We're told from the time we're young that money is the thing with value, not human life. We're taught that all that really counts is your monetary value. If your monetary value sinks too low, you're no longer "deserving" of the necessities of a human life. You didn't meet the standard set by the man-made economic structure; therefore, you deserve to suffer or even potentially die from overexposure in the streets.

This outdated system takes nearly all the time and energy from those you love and forces them to live their lives in ways they would clearly never otherwise choose. It's a complete joke to call any country forcing its citizens to do things against their will free. It's propaganda, and as long as we live under capitalism, we do not live in free countries. We live under a very old, very outdated system of forced labor.

Every human on earth deserves food, water, shelter, education, comfort, and happiness BY DEFAULT, no questions asked. People deserve to have freedom of choice in terms of their life and how it looks, without being threatened with homelessness.

  • "We have deluded ourselves into believing the myth that capitalism grew and prospered out of the Protestant ethic of hard work and sacrifice. The fact is that capitalism was built on the exploitation and suffering of black slaves and continues to thrive on the exploitation of the poor - both black and white, here and abroad." - Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • "The strains and stresses suffered by the individual in society are grounded in the normal functioning of that society (and of the individual!) rather than in its disturbances and diseases." - Herbert Marcuse
  • "We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words" - Ursula K. Le Guin

Look as much as I don’t favour trans people, I have seen some positive people who haven’t lost their minds. Primarily because before they made the switch they weren’t insufferable like most of them.

Bit odd to have this on FMHY but I don’t make the rules.

Update: I have fallen ill thanks to the crotch goblins at my siblings school, so I will resume my journey to archive what I can once I feel better.
i am back and with a vengeance:

not looking forward to the ETA on some of these, don't be fooled they can and have changed as of writing this post.

i'm currently going harddrive by harddrive, so far i'm on 1 of them downloading 298GB of data (that's the limit, it's a 320gb sized harddrive) basically maxing out the drive.

Tried to torrent Deadly Blessing (1981) from ext.to and the torrent files aren't working, but I was able to stream it on ext.to, where the player is embedded on the page. Right clicking on the player doesn't do anything. Is there a way to download the video file from the page's elements? I vaguely recall seeing something about it on r/piracy a while back.

Open the browser console (F12 or right-click > Inspect Element) and go to Network. Optionally, clear the log using the 🛇 button. Then select Media as the filter. Play the video (or if it autoplays on page load then reload the page). A URL should show up, ideally with .mp4 or .mov or something, and you should be able to open that in a new tab and play/download the video.

However, this may not work if the site has implemented countermeasures.

Do you use a VPN? If so, can you forward ports on it? Do you have the correct network interface selected in Options - Advanced?
Fixed by messing with the "Alternate download" sources thing. If you live in Europe, especially Spain, you will have noticed how certain corpos are censoring the net every time there's football. Well, this seems to be related, as certain internet providers are neutering p2p use unless you use VPN or alternate ways (like Emule, still not blocked). If you don't like in Yurop, you have it good.

They must have some kind of protection. Tried with 2 different movies and the player won't work if inspect element is open.

I’ll take it off my OP, thanks.

Which is most sites, try out yt-dlp or VideoDownloadHelper, and check the results.

A piracy site blocking you from downloading something it provides torrents for is a bit counterintuitive, I'd think. Then again, I know nothing about web development.

eta: Went to 1337x.to and it automatically downloaded this:

Haven't opened it. I can't get past the security check page:

It's been like this for several minutes. Tried refreshing the page and it just downloaded the stream.ts file again.

I'm thinking of seeding my very first torrent. I have about 550 movies + screenshots (1.1 TB) I want to share. My connection is 140/40 Mbit and I use a VPN with no port forwarding. What would be the best way to do this? Should I even bother if I can't forward ports?

I was considering using a DDL site, but they either have shitty terms of service or use Visa/Mastercard/Paypal/Stripe for payments. Our dear admin has convinced me they should be ignored whenever possible.

My collection is made up mostly of US/Italian/Japanese/HK action/sci-fi/horror/thriller/mystery films.
