I haven't experienced this issue, but did you read the comments on the m0nkrus site? People usually complain about that one Windows Defender option you're supposed to disable, but maybe there's a solution there.

The error message isn't a problem. I'm just mad that the upload : download ratio is so massive. I get errors like that all the time and just wait. It'll start downloading again. Might get a few more errors, but it'll finish downloading sooner or later.
 
Where do you guys suggest I go to look up old gaming magazines? Especially ones from Japan or anything foreign that includes interesting trivia and interviews with developers. I'd imagine archive.org would be the goto, but any other sites that mirrors and catalogs them?

I need an opinion from someone who's more tech-savvy than me before I do something retarded (assuming I haven't already). I'm trying to download Ninja Ripper to extract 3D models from a game but the official version is paywalled on Patreon for $5.

My pride won't let me pay for Patreon so I searched for free downloads. The least sketchy site I found is Kemono which has a recentish version, I downloaded a zip file (haven't run the exes yet) but Virustotal doesn't like it:

Retromags would be another source to check although I can't speak for the Japan part specifically at least based on their torrent as my main interaction with the site. Looking at the site they have a category under their magazine downloads section for Japan so it might have some of what you're looking for.

They do have a fairly good torrent with the previous years collections if you would want to go through those to see what is in them. They aren't the quickest at updating it though with their submissions from 2025 still awaiting torrent status the last time I'd checked.

The situation with viruses is very sketchy these days. If you download any warez and complain about potential viruses, everyone will just tell you it's a false positive, yadda yadda. The example you posted sounds like it could be something I got infected with about a year ago. I can't remember the exact name, but it was definitely a virus. It would make two Powershell windows blink for a split second every couple of days. It was supposed to look for any traces of crypto wallet addresses on my PC and send them to the attacker. Luckily I don't use crypto. So I'd be super careful if I were you.

I think that I borked my original model Nintendo Switch that has Auto RCM and Hekate.

The battery charge was fluctuating even when connected to an AC adapter or my computer, which made installing from DBI impossible. I shut down the Switch, but the Switch will not turn on. Even after spending around half a day charging directly from the AC adapter then connecting the Switch to my computer with the same exact cables, TegraRcmGUI 2,6 will say that no RCM device is detected. The AC adapter and cable work with other devices.

Inspect the battery. My old Xiaomi phone would charge with normal speed up to 93% and then it would take twice the amount of time to get it to 99% (never 100%). I opened the phone and there was literally a hole in the battery.

I decided it wasn't worth the risk and searched for an even earlier version of the tool from when it wasn't paywalled. It's much more rudimentary but the game I wanted to rip from is quite old, so hopefully it should still work.

The exact same thing happened to me a couple of months back, but I never figured out the cause and it eventually stopped happening so I didn't think much of it. If that's indeed a virus then I'll have to take it more seriously.

Every time something suspicious happens, go straight to Event Viewer and inspect everything that happened in the last hour. I solved lots of issues by doing this, including the infection. Or, better yet, use a neat piece of software called EventLook that's a lot more convenient.

Grok can search the text of old game magazines on archive.org if you're looking for something specific.

Not dumb, Guessing they've been getting hammered since it'd be odd otherwise. Tried ' . to ' on my VPN which worked. I'd try a new IP, server nearby, and then one far away for new ASN
