It's about half and half for me. On one hand, ever since I was an awkward teenager, I've always wanted to have an excuse to dress lolita. As a 5'6", chubbbyish white girl who likes, but isn't obsessed with Japan/anime, though, the opportunity has never presented itself (that and $$$). Plus, I found that when I tried to wear cute frilly clothes in general, I ended up looking like an overgrown tween more often than not (something Pixy hasn't quite realized about herself), especially with light colors and pastels. That's been enough to dissuade me from pursuing the kawaii-desu lolita look on a more dedicated level.
But also, I've never been a huge fan of Pixy's style of lolita fashion. I don't quite know what you'd call her category (on a serious note outside of "lolawful". Sweet?), but I've always been more attracted to the idea of gothic/aristocrat/classic anyway.
