That is because they occur inside the mind and technically, we only live inside the mind. Think about it, we can't objectively go past our senses and view objects in an objective fashion. I like it to the allegory ove the cave. Sure, there's life outside of the cave, but people can't see it. They can only see what they evolved to see right there in that moment. Our nervous systems evolved to value and intuitively feel abstract concepts like beauty and love for survival. The truth is that our world may not actually be real, and we might just be the products of some kind of single cellular organism that perceived itself, and generated its own reality..yet here we are today.
