$2 sys-on-chip player with data burned on ROM in a proprietary format (adaptive multi-rate wideband).
There has got to be a reason this is so cheap. How does it beat paperback prices?
Library system funding? Foundation for Blind?

Never heard of it, but I think I've seen one without thinking about what it was.

They have a Wonderbook book attachment that has a MicroUSB charging port that could make it easier to hack, and a preloaded educational tablet that probably doesn't matter.
