certainly a lot of funny events and pictures transpire everyday, but if we were to add every one of them to the emote list it would get bloated really fast.
The emotes that I used in my post were not necessarily me pushing against them, but rather to highlight how sparsely they are used. If we cut down all emotes to around 5 each one would have a strong and distinct purpose than the super smash ultimate feeling where every one is a slight variation on the last.
edit: the idea that this image is exceptional is not true. The circumstances aren't really that exceptional either, we are talking about that democracy after all

If you made an emote for every event like this you would have too many. there's already too many emotes and nobody uses them. 90% of the posts use NO emotes, and we're going to add this one so it cannot be used? give me a break

Who cares if most people don't use them though? I have a few favorites I use all the time.
