A stunning conclusion to the murder saga! All’s well that ends well I suppose

Anyone else been watching this asshole have a public fucking meltdown the past few days?

Oh, Eva. Nice to see her triggering a cutter.

This is surely an attempted copypasta. Exactly who has been traced and dealt with? Which police force? What were the charges? Calling someone a lunatic on the internet?

Amazing how right in the middle she was able to type properly

On closer inspection, I refuse to believe that this one isn't a troll. Surely you'd just put the phone down if your switching is like the transformation in The Mask.

AND, they newest plural discourse that everyone was talking about yesterday:

I haven't been paying attention to this specific community drama. Is anyone defending the DDLG/CSA LARP besides the LARPers themselves?

Half of the larpers are disgusted and the other half are like “alters aren’t LITERAL children, guyz, we just SAY that they are because we’re trying to validate people”

It seems that the majority of the disgusted people fall into the endogenic camp and the ones defending it are traumagenic. (For those not in the know, endo is the tulpa people who create alters for fun and trauma are the people who say they had bad childhoods that causes their alters)

It really is very thoughtful of Jess to go NPC for up to thirty minutes at a time. I was wondering when her husband had the opportunity to sneak off and masturbate to gay porn, but now we know that when his wife can't role play to his satisfaction, she'll go into a catatonic state and give him a break instead. I wonder how it is to grow up and pass your Mother frozen in place and talking to herself several times a day. Good luck, Eevee.
Yes, that is how they spell their daughters nickname.

not a PL, an informed opinion: it’s terrifying and doesn’t really do any favors for the course of healthy child development.

This is mostly likely why she has been wrapping up her LARP in recent weeks. She is aiming for full integration which is to say she is killing off the OCs she invented as a teenager now they've become too embarrassing or inconvenient. I've spoken with someone who claims to know her personally and child services were allegedly involved over concerns in her ability to parent when the child was born. Convenient that she's choosing to eliminate the problem now. More convenient that she plans to recover now she has a job she has always wanted. Anyone who believes her is brain damaged to the extreme.

At risk of being added to the thread? So, every rctard on Twitter? Good luck. Having briefly browsed that hashtag, it seems apparent that none of these people know what doxxing is. Doxxing is not sharing your publicly available social media profile.

Cringe.
My first partner (not their name, but I'll call them Irene) had one of these disorders. I was emotionally abusive and forced her into treatment. The results were catastrophic for her well-being (and this was in Australia, not America where I understand people with this disorder get treated worse if they end up in a psych ward). When I eventually realised how bad I'd been to her after she cut contact, I started following some of these communities to understand (and throwing money at people in need from time to time to assuage my guilt), as well as sitting in psych lectures at college between my actual classes, and I can say with absolute certainty after spending so much time around people like this, that while a few might be LARPing the vast majority aren't, and even the biggest lolcows are probably legitimate with every last thing they say (even if what they say is cringe and hurts other people who buy into their delusions). I don't believe, at any point, that my ex was faking anything at all: this was a good 13-14 years ago, well before any of these modern communities really emerged online. As an example, she had one alter ("Nobby") that had a completely different set of clothes who dressed much more girly, and Irene got mad when I suggested she'd look fine in them also because it wasn't Irene's dress, it was Nobby's, and this behaviour exhibited itself independently, but you still see people with this disorder talking about having different sets of clothes depending on "who" is in control of the body. Really, there's not much difference between the person I dated and a lot of the things being posted here despite the lack of common platforms and the time gap, so I'm confident this isn't just The Internet reinforcing cliques of lolcows as we see in other cringe communities or subcultures like otherkin or whatever.

they seem to display little to no creativity and crucially there seems to be an ongoing theme of childhood trauma or having a fucked up life with these people. They are, almost to the last thought, completely irrational. Which is infuriating, as I personally wouldn't mind exploring having a bicameral mind or different personalities. I could probably jaw with people for hours on the idea.

Whatever makes people become like this could be studied and have papers written about it.

There is already significant data and many things written on this. Even the ones who are "faking" are almost always coming from a position of deep seated trauma: according to the literature, a significant majority of people who develop these disorders are victims of childhood sexual abuse, and it's one of the things that most highly correlates to developing this kind of thing in the first place. If not, it's something like their father being a violent drug user and them having to clean up the mess and the blood, or something similar. In fact, if they weren't victims of CSA it would usually be more suspect, because to force someone's mind to break like this requires extreme amounts of damage. And if they've gone through that, naturally they're going to be messed up in some way.

That's one of the more interesting things about them, I think. They all do have some sort of mental derangement, it just isn't MPD, because MPD is fake.

MPD is an old term that was superseded a very long time ago. It's not fake as such, but the way it's explained usually isn't very helpful for people who lack experience with this class of mental disorder. You know when you zone out and binge watch something trashy for five hours, then suddenly realise all that time has passed yet you can't really remember a single plot point? Or if you go on a very long drive for three or four hours, but on arrival it feels like only ten minutes have passed? Amplify it tenfold, except the "them" that is there when they're zoned out (what the literature calls "dissociation") ends up becoming an entirely different person. This feeling of being zoned out is what nearly every moment of their life is like. It's similar to what people with PTSD often feel, but worse.

It's easy to understand how this happens. If you are a kid and you're being abused, you still need to react and do things as you're being abused. But your mind can't take it, so it effectively creates a second, third, fourth, or more "you" while you're zoned out in order to be able to react and be "present" in the moment, and you give these other "you"s completely different names in order to identify them from your core being (or "host" in their own terminology).

It’s just stupid kids/manchildren who are quantifying different emotions as different "personalities" so they can claim they’re unique, and them trying to “force a switch” is literally just them trying to get themselves to feel a different emotion... You know how when you’re horny you start thinking about a bunch of bullshit but after you coom you’re like “what the fuck why was I thinking about that?”

Correct, but consider this in terms of pathology. Say you're consciously aware of the social damage having a collection of furry/kemono degeneracy could do if it was made public, so you sign up to places under a different account name so it doesn't pollute the rest of your social media to defend your reputation, or maybe you have a secret second or third partition on a hard drive that's full of videos featuring thai ladyboys that's apart from the rest of your life: it's not so much different taking that concept and applying it to the deepest levels of someone's psyche. They're often so damaged they can't feel certain emotions because it's tied up with various traumatic experiences, and other personalities emerge to protect their core being from further damage. Again, given child abuse is so very common, maybe they can't get laid without getting really upset, so in sexual situations they have an entirely different persona take over. Or maybe they're so averse to violence or being put in bad situations, they have a "protector" persona who takes over in order for them to defend and stand up for themselves. They're functionally unable to experience certain emotions as they are, which is part of the reason why they engage in such cringe on social media.

What we're looking at isn't just a collection of lolcows, but really sick and damaged people who probably need professional help and a bunch of sedatitives.

And in this you're entirely correct. These aren't capable people like Momo or Glitchedpuppet who are rational adults who should know better. Sedatives and most medication often doesn't work and can make things worse in many cases because it makes it harder to address the underlying trauma. Only very extreme therapy from a specialised and qualified mental health professional can solve their problems, which after time ends up with "fusion" in which all the different personalities merge into a single person, which can happen very rapidly in some situations. A problem with their online communities in many cases is that they are full of lolcows who specifically warn people away from getting help, and it just solidifies a range or self-destructive behaviours and stops them from getting the assistance most of them desperately require.

You are giving these bored children far too much credit. The majority of these people are autistic, borderline, or thirteen years old. Most have self diagnosed. Some have doctor shopped. You are speculating on fictitious trauma histories that have no basis in reality, much like the SRA brigade. The majority of genuine trauma survivors are not on Twitter cosplaying as eight year old water benders or immortal cat-boys. The majority of trauma survivors who are unable to cope with their trauma are either institutionalised or too busy mainlining black tar to Tweet about it. The rest tend to get on with their lives, or seek therapy. What we see on Twitter is nothing more than attention seeking, and your sperging has revealed you as an enabler.

Whilst I agree that Dissociative Identity Disorder may well exist, what I have read thus far indicates that it would not present in the manner we see on Twitter. Extreme personality states which drastically differ from the original personality should not be present. These alter states should form to hold traumatic memories; there is no reason, then, that these states should identify as fictional characters, different races, different sexualities, different gender identities. In genuine cases, these 'alters' should be a part of the original personality that is holding the traumatic memory. These 'alters' are merely separated by amnesic barriers. Treatment for DID aims to remove these barriers and integrate the personality, does it not? Then, it is one whole personality - it should never be so separate from the original personality as to be a 'person' in its own right. These people who have developed such distinct personalities are LARPing.

In the unlikely event that a genuine DID sufferer has found their way onto Twitter, we should not be encouraging them to engage in role play. Delusion and fantasy is unhelpful and would certainly derail recovery. Look at Jess; she has been engaged in this community for over six years. Evidence from an old MySpace profile suggests that she has engaged with the community far longer than that. It is only now she has a child and a potential career that she has decided to engage with treatment rather than role play. The validity of her diagnosis is up for debate; she obtained her diagnosis from Pottergate, and there are several inconsistencies with her story. But, for the sake of argument, let us say she has DID.

For over half a decade, Jess has been encouraged to develop her alters. She has put them in front of the camera both on YouTube, and on various mainstream media platforms internationally. She has been praised and lavished with attention for having a group of quirky emo boys living in her head and the attention has consistently rolled in. At university, she was surrounded by naive psych students who found her condition so fascinating she was asked to deliver a lecture. Until recently, she has been offered no incentive to recover. Now, she has found herself at 26, with a child whom authorities are concerned about, stuck in a dead end career as a glorified secretary. Her views are lower than ever. Newer creators are taking the spotlight with their increasingly outlandish alters. It is all going downhill for Jess.

She has recently been offered an out in the form of a career she has always wanted - and suddenly she has more incentive to walk away from the community and recover. Her adolescence and early adulthood have been squandered and her reputation is forever tarnished. She will forever be known as a questionable minor internet personality who LARPed as a bunch of edgy OCs - it is all just a google search away. Now, she may be able to convince the authorities that her angry hairdresser alter won't slit her little girl's throat in a fit of rage, and she may be able to salvage a career, but would this not have been simpler had she not engaged with a community who treated her 'alters' as wholly separate people?

Again, her presentation of the condition is ludicrous to me, and the sheer amount of engagement with mainstream media would suggest that the attention was her primary motivator. I do not personally believe she has DID, but the point stands. If she did have DID, the online community has done her more harm than good. We should be mocking these people - firstly, for fun. How anyone can look at this community and not laugh is beyond me. Secondly, for the good of the few genuine sufferers who may discover the community and engage in delusion, derailing their own recovery. It is not up for debate. These people are attention seeking at best and delusional at worst.

In other news, Null had better prepare for a storm. Some sixteen year old tranny is coming with a mega DDoS to avenge Plural Gang. You know, right after they google it.

ETA: A THIRD thread where yet another person admits to faking DID. I didn’t realize that the Final Fantasy house phenomenon was so common

As much as I enjoy watching these people in the wild I wonder if giving them the attention they so desperately crave in some way dilutes that organic retardation I love to see. They either adapt their behavior to maximise on attention, losing authenticity, or they run scared immediately. One cap is nothing to be afraid of. Wait until someone is at your bedroom window before you panic.

These threads are both fascinating, disturbing, and frustrating in equal measure. These people are delusional. I don't know whether I ought to laugh or despair.

We saw this server and our first thought was "this seems like some weird roleplay of DID".
We knew what Maladaptive Daydreaming was...
We don't fakeclaim people. But she was intentionally faking DID/OSDD to abuse us
:suffering::suffering::suffering:

This all changed when Cassie, who was identified as bigender at the time, broke down crying in the middle of a walmart while clothes shopping over the dysphoria she felt having to present as a male. Jackson was distraught... He backed down and acted like everything was fine, but a little while later he'd have a full on mental breakdown and I, Piper, would take over as the host.
Enter Bastet and Thoth.
Bastet and Thoth never existed. But for months, we thought they did.

That someone can sit and write what amounts to an essay about arguing with their own imaginary friends over what clothing is going to trigger a public meltdown, whether it was right or wrong to invent imaginary friends based on Egyptian deities, or how traumatic it was for their real friends to berate one of their imaginary friends for holding opposing political stances is clinical. Never mind the brief pedophilia accusations that were swept hastily aside, what is more important to this individual is how invalid we were briefly made to feel about our self confessed imaginary friends.

Soon this accumulated to over 40 characters in my head all anime/game/media characters that would just "magically" appear with everything I watched.

The true alters I did have were fed misinformation and lies to believe they were ghosts, from other dimensions able to preform and do all kinds of acts they could not do. When they found out they couldn't preform these things or "go home" they got very distressed. When they found out certain people actually didn't EXIST they began having existential crisis, break downs, huge dissociative episodes that induced panic attacks, self harm and persecutor more than once to try and take the bodies life.

This is an individual who cannot grasp the concept of enjoying media. Man comes to understand he is not Eijiro Kirishima; immediately cuts.

These people are merely fantasists. If they have truly suffered from a level of mental distress as a result of coming to understand that they are not the fictional characters they relate to, then they are beyond assistance. They suffer from a level of mental retardation that modern medicine cannot repair. One can merely hope that the majority are children, young enough to mature into rational adults. Perhaps this is optimistic when you consider the sheer number of adults participating in this community. Fat Robert, The Sherminator, Chloe, Nanette, Jess - each individual is my elder and undoubtedly senior to many invested in this discourse, and yet the fantasy endures; the only answer is autism. I can think of no rational explanation as to why these individuals continue to role play well into adulthood other than autism. These lunatics really ought to consider pursuing LARPing as a serious pastime.
