So I was on a road trip recently and in those long drives, I was thinking that there's a lot of stuff that has been hijacked for specific topics by specific people. There's catchphrases like "rape culture" (which I believe was originally referring to sodomy in prisons) but there are also whole topics that aren't inherently bad and can actually be really interesting when done right, but rarely are.
"Strong women" - This is politically motivated Hillary Clinton and RBG worship, but who doesn't admire "Waffle House Wendy"? That woman could easily trounce either of them in a fair fight.
"Going back to our roots" - Used in video games a lot, in THEORY what this should mean is stripping back the bloat from sequels and implementing "best of" features, in actuality it's a bullshit sequel farmed out to third-worlders.
Anything related to black people - If you only listened to media and pop culture, any famous black person (maybe except for George Washington Carver) is a political activist and/or a criminal*. Surprisingly this is not the case.
There's a lot more out there, but those are what I can think of off the cuff.
* or "criminal-adjacent" people like rappers.
