I think everyone knows by now what Pokemon Go is unless you've been living under a rock this whole time. Nearly everyone's playing it and if you check on Facebook for what people are saying about it, you'll find some crazy stuff like this.

As the game grows in popularity, I foresee this kind of shit being more and more of a trend. Post any salt you find related to this phenomenon taking the world by storm.

The fad kind of reminds me of the days when Pokemon was first really popular around 16 years ago. There were fundamentalist Christians claiming it was "demonic." News would do fluff pieces.

A big difference between then and now is the presence of social media.

Those retards never went away. The media just quit paying attention to them but you still have some people here and there say they had to grow up without Pokemon specifically because their parents are retarded in this way.

There really isn't much fuss about that because when you choose whether you want to be a boy or a girl, it doesn't say choose your gender it says choose your style, and just has the masculine and feminine options.
There is a ton of people praising it for being so progressive because of this.
 
All of my coworkers are playing it and I think they've gone insane. They capturing Pokemon on the plates, on each other, in the fruit groves, on the sea...

I don't use cell phones, so I won't ever fall into this mess.
 
From the Brianna Wu thread, Wu paid a guy $30 to drive here around all day so she could catch Pokemon.

Then wrote a news article about it.
