Thank Christ these guys were dumb enough to post about their plot on social media where everyone could see it. Things could've turned horribly tragic otherwise.
All this apparently stemmed from one of the guys getting pissed off with a moderator on a forum, which makes it even more pathetic. They were gonna pull another Sandy Hook over some comments on the internet. This and the shit-throwing incident from a few years back really doesn't put Pokemon players in a good light.

I used to lurk around Serebii back in the day. The mods had a weird obsession with locking bumped threads, and even the more articulate and respected members would act like religious fundamentalists whenever someone said something that they disagreed with

Fuuuuuck where was this thread when the shitstorm about Ash losing the Kalos League was happening? That was glorious--it's still glorious. Pokéfags are a bunch of entitled little shits who think that because Ash has been around for 20 years that he deserves to win an official Pokémon League (ignoring the fact he's won the Orange Island League and the Battle Frontier, but they don't cooooount because they're filler--fuck that shit). It looks like the current anime season is just rounding the bend for the finish line, so if Ash doesn't win the Alola League, expect some chimpouts.

Year-old comment, but Serebii's rules are extremely outdated, like I don't think it's been updated since last decade back when the forum lag was commonplace. With the forum's traffic in the toilet nowadays, you'd think they'd be more lenient about bumped threads especially in the clubs and other inactive places, but nerp, they lock threads that aren't fan fics (they were always exception to the rule) after a month of inactivity, and it just looks baaaaad on the interface when you check out the first page of any given subforum (not fan fiction) and see an endless row of locked threads. But that's the least of their problems, in all honesty. A lot of them are either milquetoast, or are powerhungry SJWs who have chased away other competent mods who didn't phase out on their own with their toxicity.
Really should've seen the signs when one of their most respected mods, Ethan, suddenly went insane I think around 2010 or 2011 and tried to delete the Miscellaneous sub-forum before getting kicked to the curb (they couldn't recover half of the threads). But the best and most exciting thing to have come out of that forum was the infamous "Team Tee Hee", all done and coordinated by the forum's punching bag autist Dattebayo out of "revenge" for being cyberbullied for being a furry and potential pedophile with a weird fixation on Dawn's feet. Dude dropped off the face of the Internet after that, was my first lolcow before Chris-chan but I didn't think of it at the time. After that, the site like decided to take itself too seriously with the modding and it hasn't been exciting since. Occasionally you'll find a slapfight between users and the offended one will go whine about it, but their threads get deleted pretty quickly, and I don't know if they get banned or what. Only thing that's reminiscent of the good ol' days are the spambots that pop up every night in the General and Miscellaneous subforums. Only ones that seemed to have been funny spambots were ones about Subway and Netflix from just a couple of weeks ago, but they were gone within a day.
Old habits die hard, so I'll probably get to see the heat death of Serebii in my lifetime if this keeps up. Not even the announcement of Sword and Shield has increased traffic.

Unfortunately, these three have already gone into DFE. Nappy's still around, and he did a stream on twitch where he allegedly addressed the issues. However, he almost immediately deleted the VOD, so I've no idea what was said, nor can it be archived. From what I've heard, it didn't help his case that much.

Speaking of Serebii I used to think he was the worst out of all the “big” name web masters until the whole thing with Archaic’s alleged hidden sex forum got leaked. And even before that bmgf got progressively worse in terms of staff member quality and going full sjw. The forum is almost resetera level in terms of censorship and banning.
One of my favorite moments was some guy named Platinum Dude who creeped on a lot of the female users, stalking them and throwing a fit if they didn’t respond immediately. It wasn’t until the mods caught wind of him cybering with an eleven year old girl though the visitor message system that they banned him.
There was also recent drama behind the scenes that caused a long time staff member to publicly denounce the forum and leave.

A week ago, a Youtuber/Streamer named JubileeBlias uploaded a video complaining about the things that girl gamers deal with (The same old song and dance, all wrapped up in a bag of condescension). If you're wondering the connection, she's actually the fiancee of the Poketuber MandJTV.
