Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Well, I've tried everywhere else, might as well try here.

Anyone got a shiny female nicknamable Froakie? I can offer the following shinies: Throh, Eevee, Darmanitan or Vanillux. I also have a few HA regular Pokemon, like Wartortle and Fennekin

Been trying to build a shiny froaky for ages...Will let you know if I succeed.

I'm looking for a Charizardite Y. In return, I can trade you any of the X exclusive Mega Stones (Tyranitarite, Pinsirite, Mewtwonite X, Manectite) except Charizardite X, unfortunately.

- Mega Sceptile is Grass/Dragon with the ability Lightning Rod
- Mega Swampert’s ability is Swift Swim
- Groudon and Kyogre’s new forms can be translated to either Primeval or Prehistoric. These forms appear to come from “nature’s energy”.
- The subtext for Groudon and Kyogre suggests new moves
- Steven returns and is researching Mega Evolution
- Archie and Maxie are still leading Team Aqua and Team Magma respectively. Their Admins also return. All have received redesigned character art.
- Players will still have access to the Acro and Mach bikes
- Brendan and May will use the new ‘Mega Bangle‘ that will be used for Mega Evolutions in battle

OR/AS discussion:
I know this is late, but I had to post my two cents

Oh my gosh, I freakin love Courtney new design! She is so, so, so, so adorable and I want that outfit. She just looks like a cute demon girl and it's just adorable. I don't mind Maxie and Tabitha's new designs. Maxie is scrawnier and wears glasses and looks like that nerd you really wish you didn't mistreat back in middle school, love it. As for Tabitha which everyone is mixed on, well, he now has three very distint character designs, the manga version, the 3DS version, and the GBA/anime version. I kind of like Tabitha better this way because he looks more memorable and not so generic looking like that anime/GBA version and the manga version? Totally looks like a buff Tommy Wiseau ("Oh hai Mightyena!"). So yes, I actually like fat Tabitha's design just because it isn't so uber generic like in the GBA version.

As for Aqua... Archie's in a neoprene suit now which is sort of starting to grow on me, but Shelley's pose and outfit confuses me with all the cut-outs and the A that looks like could not fit on her top, the fact that she is no longer a redhead doesn't bother me really. I however, do like Matt, he is still that tough looking guy like in the original.

Infact, with all these redesigns, including the player characters, it makes me wonder about the gym leaders and the E4 and such... hmmmmmm

Still looking forward to the new games, but I'm not liking May's new look. Also not sure if I like
legendaries getting mega evolutions. Mewtwo's was neat because it had two different ones and I assume lati@s's mega evolution was because they seem to be getting rid of the soul dew

Yeah, I wonder if you'll be able to customize the characters like in X/Y... Anyways, found this relevant:

And also another question I'm dying to know:

No really I liked that kid

Abilities for Primal Groudon/Kyogre are going to change. Since Drought and Drizzle were nerfed to lasting only five turns, my guess is that these new abilities will either last longer or bring in permanent weather.

Yeah, I'm curious about the statistics of this new forms myself. I mean, Kyogre especially is notorious for being broken as is hence a reason why the weather abilities are no longer indefinite along with a lot of other pokemon with weather abilities and the teams they are centered around. It is another reason I'm curious because you are already taking something godly and giving it another form at it's disposal. If done correctly, then the two forms wouldn't be necessarily better or worse, but the other form would maybe, say, give another way to use Groudon/Kyogre strategy wise, ideally, it does not really more or less powerful, just different if that makes any weird sense, but only time will tell.

I'm more concerned about whether or not there are any significant changes in breeding mechanics compared to X/Y that were added since that is kind of my favorite thing. Hopefully it's nothing too drastic.

Yeah, I personally think they got breeding mechanics just right in X/Y. It's to the point where it's not a Sisyphean task to breed something good, but it's not really something you could do if you didn't know what you were doing.

Do any Vivillon collectors around here happen to have any non-English, but nicknamed "Vivillon" (in English) of the following patterns: Icy Snow, Garden? I'm looking for these because I just like the idea of having a large collection of foreign Vivillon. I can swap you the same form (with the English tag) or one of my extra Vivillon.

I may have the Garden pattern somewhere. I don't collect them, so you're welcome to it!

I'm building a semi-competitive battle team for the first time (I have no idea what I'm doing), and having a stupid amount of luck with shinies. Mostly Magikarps. I seem to have this curse of attracting shiny Magikarps. My count is up to five.

Just for the sake of memories, I watched the first 9 episodes of the Pokemon series. For some reason, it's weirder than I watched back then.

I really think the Pokemon anime was a missed opportunity.

I mean I know it was designed purely as a marketing gimmick (and succeeded to a really great extent) but other anime that did just that *cough*digimon*cough* at least attempted the most rudimentary character development and spent a great deal of time on backstory and dialogue.

Most episodes of Pokemon's anime are just "meet some random new person with some random new pokemon. Villain shows up. Team rocket shows up does their stupid shit. New guy does something and learns the true meaning of friendship. Ash and co go somewhere else.

and the story repeats itself ad nauseam.

I mean for a story that's supposed to tell the story of someone wanting to be "the very best" he never even gets close to accomplishing that goal.

It's so that they can keep reusing him as the protagonist I guess, if he accomplishes his goal what's left to do?

what the hell even is a Pokémon Master?

Right but at the very least have the character, you know progress in some way.

I mean he doesn't really accomplish much beyond help some random people he meets in his journey and maybe get a few gym badges. He never even attempts to get a strong powerful team considering most of them are at the rookie stage (and he gets rid of them as soon as he goes to a new region) and doesn't attempt to "catch them all" as the show's tagline suggests.

Apparently what a pokemon master is, is actually left intentionally vague by Nintendo.
Nintendo.com's mailbag said:
"I'm very sorry, but the Pokémon Company does not answer questions of this nature. It is the intent of the Pokémon creators that such questions be left to the imaginations and interpretations of Pokémon fans, adding more excitement and mystery to the Pokémon universe."

So we have a series about a character attempting to accomplish a goal that is never clearly defined and never even getting close to completing it.

Gary Oak develops more than Ash does. I mean doesn't he mature part way through and start wanting to become a researcher and stuff?

I find the anime okay to watch just to pass the time though, and there are some pretty funny and/or cute moments. Still, I find it more like a 30-minute advertisement for Pokemon merchandise.

The shipping wars are getting even more ridiculous too thanks to Serena.
