Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

>only half an hour long
pussy, should've made it thrice the length to really show his hatred
thank god it's that short I'm getting so sick of several-hour essays that barely say anything

If a half-hour long review for the base game is fairly sized, then would that mean that a 20ish-minute review of the DLC would be long? Take this review as an example:

>the bad takes up 15 minutes of a 20 minute review

also, nnnah not really? I actually thought the first video was pretty short, that's why the joke came to mind

I'm patiently awaiting Radical Soda to make his review. If it's anything like his Sword/Shield one, he will tear the game a new one
I've got to be honest, how does anyone play the new games without all the previous pokemon and moves? That's half the fun, you can find some obscure moveset on a pokemon nobody uses to this day in the older games, where as the new games have nothing but an ever increasing power creep.
Plus, you might not be able to get your bros transferred, that's literally the entire point of the franchise. Without Pokemon's main gimmick, you get exactly what you see: A soulless, broken, empty and utterly generic JRPG with DLC that will cost as much as the main game, and end up being nothing more than the cut post game that was always meant to be there to begin with.

Yeah, Sword certainly shat the bed on that part. But the game's so easy that you barely need an full team (of what's already in it) to actually win the main championship
ALL pokemon games are dirt simple, aside from maybe the GC ones and individual parts of other games. It's the principle of the matter that counts.

Most of the Switch era has made me, for the first time in my life, completely stop giving a shit about nu-Pokemon. Call me when they make another Mystery Dungeon. Or Legends, I'd also take that.
Inwas hanging by a thread before Switch era Pokemon, then fell off completely. Then S&V slit my interest's throat with a genderqueer knife.

Same here. Starting with Gen 7, serious crap appeared, like no more surfing from place to place, dropped dex entries, and that "unfinished" thing. Also they removed that "battle test" feature. And there are no more secret bases nor soaring like in ORAS.

I blame that on Gamefreak taking the lazy way out.
There's also more Western influence in the series too. One video on "woke" in S&V pointed out how much of the characters are ugly.

ORAS and Sun/Moon revived my interest in the series. Shame how badly they dropped the ball on the switch.

Its a small gripe but the uncanny hair is something that I really don’t like in S/V. Its the billion hair strands on the character models that jarringly take away from the series artstyle and its odd no one else cares about it. There are no hair strands like that in even S/V’s character art or the other switch games.

Could be corrected with better lighting or some actual material work being added to the hair strands, but we know Gamefreak won’t even do something that takes less than an hour to fix.

Most of the pokemon models have been recycled since gen 6 anyway. No excuse to not copy paste them and national dex entries like they’d done since Gen 4.

It wasn't a good sign when the male and female (?) trainers in S&V are both wearing the same outfit.
That was a dead giveaway. It was relatively subtle and innocuous on its own (at best it was charitably boring), but absolutely a harbinger of things to come, and boy did the queers cum--ALL over the fucking game. The series is in such a sad damn state, westernized and woke. It's a tragedy.

Yeah, stuff like this only matters if you're doing an custom run or it's literally your first attempt at playing an RPG. But there's hardly any excuse for Sword & Shield to be that way when you look at what they did with Arceus and S/V

Technically, surfing is still around in that game...Mostly to reach that hidden island with Necrozma(?) and for getting the usual list of hidden islands. But I think that Gen 8 had it worse in the sense that there's hardly any environmental obstacles (aside from the water) to stop you from getting everything

So someone gave me their old Switch and Violet. So far I like it. I'm just a casual player. Catch pokemon, fight pokemon, finish game. That sort of thing. For that it's just fine. I also have Sword but I'm not playing more than one pokegame at a time.

There is an ugliness factor I noticed. You can make yourself pretty generic anime looking with the right combo. You can also be fucking hideous. I played around with the character maker and it's amazing how bad you can be with just the few things you can tweak. Lots of edgy hair. The default female hair is very odd looking too. Not sure what that's even supposed to be. I ended up with the hime cut and a :3 mouth for lulz. But you can make yourself look like an ugly transkid and that creeps me out. I assume the gender neutral uniforms are for the comfort of enbeez.

I battled what I thought was a little boy. But it was a girl. I can't tell the kiddos apart.

I wish that the maps were a bit smaller. Every time I move somewhere there's a whole other area I haven't touched yet and much of it is filler.. I like that I can avoid random battles though.

I do have Alpha Sapphire. But I haven't played it yet. I got it awhile ago but was playing other things.

If you haven't played them yet, I highly suggest firing up Dolphin emulator and playing Pokemon Colosseum and Gale of Darkness. Even though they released 20 years ago, they STILL have better animations and models than the newer titles. The games are also more difficult and have better characters and story(Miror B still GOAT). Unlike any of the main games, they also focus on double battles instead of singles, which changes everything, and there is a very limited pool of pokemon to choose from(unless you use Trigger's PC which lets you transfer any pokemon you own from GBA games, kinda like Gen 3's Pokebank)
Very enjoyable experiences that actually give you a challenge and leave you satisfied when you're done, it will blow your mind just how day and night the difference is between the GC and Switch titles.
They also have a damn hard post game challenge, in the form of Mt Battle. For that, I definitely suggest just importing a good team since you need lv 100 pokemon and good luck grinding the pokemon you find in the main game to that level.
Honestly, I wouldn't consider anyone a true "fan" unless they've done the Mt Battle Battle Mode challenge where they have to fight 100 trainers in a row using Stadium rules, took me 8 hours straight and was damn difficult to do, especially towards the end. Got myself a cool Ho-Oh out of it, however(only legit way to get one in Gen 3 without a genned Navel Rock event ticket)

Just gonna leave this here:

Since Genius Sonority and Trigger's PC were mentioned, is there a way to transfer(not gen) pokemon from Gen 4 saves or carts over to Pokemon Battle Revolution on Dolphin? I Heard that game is notoriously unfun with just the rental pokemon and I always wanted to try out my Platinum/Heart Gold pokemon in Battle Mode/Stadium like game.
Cheating pokemon in doesn't sound like fun, I want to do it with my bros if possible.

Alpha Sapphire
That became my favorite in the series, and I like how one can get a good team without trading.

Also to me it's a remake of of the "reboot" since Gen 3 was incompatible with the 8-bit games.

From what I've seen online (never got SV), NPCs in S&V can be ugly too.
