So, finding a DS on my country is really hard and im not paying 300 bucks on a switch. Which you think is the best game of the series to try on an emulator? Ive head that BW2 is pretty much the peak for the sprite era.
For me the best in the series is gold, silver and crystal. Alot of the games are really good so I'm not gonna argue someone else's opinions but my reasoning is there are 16 badges and gyms and 2 regions with some cool end game content like battling red

Look, I'm not going to moral-sperg like some people here, but even when I was younger this bothered me. There is an entire route covered in snow up to your waist, you really think people wouldn't raise an eyebrow as your character is getting hypothermia in real time? Lucas has an alright Platinum design that fit the setting, and even in DP the devs knew how ridiculous going thru that route was when both characters were still wearing their summer clothing. Now, a competent dev studio would make a new spritesheet for the winter sections(and swimming sections too, now that I think about it) so that the world would feel more reactive rather than just throwing a "Tee hee, isn't this silly how you're wearing nothing in this snowstorm? Aren't you cold!?" throwaway line from an NPC, but whatever. My point is, they knew. They always knew.

I think most people are just finding it funny how ridiculous it is. Only a few people are truly shocked, and they're likely tourists or spergs.
My dude, you had a guy in a trench coat in the middle of fucking texas/arizona alongside a guy with winter clothing, same with the rangers going deep diving in normal shorts.
At some point you realize they have those designs because they look cool/its cute and not because its practical

I probably memory holed that part of the game
Yeah it's one of the worst bits lol but if you remember, you have to battle three trainers before they let you leave and one is out in the basketball court.

it's very short, and you basically just do a couple of battles and have some alola lore given to you. it's not really a part of the plot, unlike in the anime where it's pretty heavily present, or like paldea, where it's very important. it's about the same as the trainer school in violet city, just with a few trainers to fight and some items to get.

Its not that short lol its like 30-45 min with all the dialog but its pretty light on content yeah. Its not long before you leave the first city and it starts to open up a little. But yeah I wasn't making the point it was central to the game, just that they do consider things like school life, they just deem it uninteresting to gameplay.

In the anime in Kanto, in school, they even confirm the anime Pokemon have levels just like the game.

To be fair, Fallout is one of my favorite franchises and dudes wear leather there all the time. It doesn't bother me as much as the skimpy outfits in a middle of a tundra, which aren't just stupid but also would likely just leave your character dead.
Also, Wes is the best protagonist in the franchise, the runner ups aren't even close. It's a robbery we never got to see him again as the leader of Neo-Cipher.

Yeah, you're not really a student in that one as much as you're shoehorned into a shitty tutorial. Actually, that amounts to the first hour-hour and a half of the game anyways.
Also, I think every single Pokemon game starting with Gen 2 has a "Trainer School" section in the beginning, it's just a tutorial for newer players.

with all the dialog
okay now that's the part i had edited out of my memories. gen 7 dialogue overload. thanks for the reminder. and yeah, the kid in the kanto series talks about like, the levels pokemon learn moves and shit. it was interesting. that made me remember the b-button league. what were they doing in the anime to stop their pokemon from evolving?

Well, quite, but the Poke world does have schools. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to link it to pantie inspections but the point being they do exist and children do go there.

Not your character, you just wander about the entire country, on a journey that no doubt takes months, fucking about as you please, and apparently that's normal. Since a lot of kids can just legally ditch school and essentially just be full-time vagabonds, earning money by fighting other trainers, I guess there is a whole lot less competition in the more traditional fields.
Well, that and then there are all these trainers that wash out of the whole Pokemon League thing and just settle down to fuck their Pokemon, as the the fans will helpfully point out now. I posted earlier about how only the most autistic individuals who wouldn't normally have sex make it into the pro circuit and your character is one of them(which makes sense as most of the player characters are mutes), which lines up with the personalities these elite trainers usually have.
The world of Pokemon doesn't make much sense when you think about it too much. Best to just focus on the gameplay.

bruh there's no way this shit could happen in real life cuz chomos would be snatchin those nigglets up left and right because their level 3 pidgey can't compete with Mr. Candyman's level 40 hypno

pictured here, a highly autistic and advanced trainer.

sir, i think you'll find that typhlosion is the groomer here. hypno has been falsely accused of this for years.

Why? You visit roughly 8-10 cities that are linked by singular routes. Many countries the games are based on can be traversed from top to bottom in less than a day with a motor, and maybe a couple weeks on foot

I think we all get that, lol, but I'm still pretty sure they were trying to double their market at the tail end of Poke Mania and appeal to little girls and not running a hentai club in the GF offices, lol. Perversions, preconceptions etc might play into it subconsciously, and they might try and make the girl "sexy" to their young male audience in the same way Misty was meant to be for kids my age, but I still think you're getting a little carried away reading into character designs.
