Going to be honest I think the starters actually look pretty decent. I definitely had a “What is this shit? Are those fakemon?” reaction to them at first but now they’ve grown on me. They’re a big step up from the SwSh starters. Honestly at this point I care more about what the final form of a starter is than the base form.
Surprised the fanbase isn’t talking more about the game being open world and seamless. Granted it would probably not be executed very well and shit can change but it’s a promising start at least.
That said I’m actually worried about the GF staff members with all the titles they are pushing out. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone drops dead from being over worked if it hasn’t already happened.

Little Town Hero was made specifically to give the GF staff a break from churning out Pokemon for the last 20 years, and it wasn't well received so I can't imagine morale is great.
I personally think this forced 1 year = 1 game thing that the Pokemon Company tries to enforce is disastrous for the series unless they do what CoD does and bring in about 3-4 other studios to develop games alongside GF constantly.
Oh god please don't have encounters work like SWSH, I just want pre-emptive strike mechanics again so looking for pokemon about to ram into you means something
I doubt it’ll be a vassal state since non-Japan regions are largely independant of each other. On the other hand that doesn’t rule out Japan-inspired architecture being somewhere in the game. As far as Hisuian Pokemon being present in SV I’d chalk that up due to
Interesting, regular outbreaks have better odds but massive outbreaks have other things that make ‘em unique.
EDIT: I really underestimated how BIG massive mass outbreaks are here... I actually managed to get a Shiny Scyther from one of the three spawns you have to investigate for Mai.

I was reminded that should the Unown ever show up (lol doubt), there's a possibility there could be an Unown Ñ, and the thing that gets to me about this is that I can see this happening where they just take Unown N and stick a unibrow on it.
If I had to propose a rough 5 year cycle for console Pokemon games that I think is plausible to happen it'd go something like.
Year 1: New Gen made by GF
Year 2: Spin off game that is some genre shift that is meant as pure fan service for popular mons (Pokken Tournament, Snap, etc) made by some studio.
Year 3: New gen sequel (Ultra Sun/Moon, BW2, etc game) made by GF.
Year 4: Spin off game that is still an rpg of some sort with more focus on adapting Pokemon's setting to something more interesting then the standard formula akin to Mystery Dungeon, PLA, or Colosseum/Gale of Darkness.
Year 5: Next new gen, repeat cycle from here.
Put remakes somewhere in years 2-4 as needed. This way GF has about 4-5 years to has out a next gen as it on the side makes its sequel within 2 years instead of 1 year like Sun and Moon.
Well, hunting for an Alpha/Shiny Spiritomb is going to be a HECK of a lot easier now.
It appears that they can be in massive mass outbreaks.
Oh, and massive mass outbreaks WILL stuff up your boxes pretty quickly so it’s best to release what you’ve caught unless it’s important. TPCi should’ve announced Bank compatibility today because I’m a bit miffed.
EDIT: I replaced the pic with a better one I found on Twitter that also confirms that Unown can appear in massive mass outbreaks.
I guess since pocketmon games are now developed for a simultaneous worldwide release, Western developers have influence over game design from the start. The old days of the games being developed in Japan and then later localized in the West are gone now.
I don't like the ingame player model. Not sure if it's because of the uncanny valley or because the more realistic design style seems out of place in the cartoony pokemon world.
Edit: it's the blush. They could've just given the PC the usual pink circles used in anime instead of the oddly realistic-looking rosy cheeks.

Do people really think Fuecoco looks like an apple?
Personally I see a ghost pepper. His face has skull like markings and his little pepper shaped body.
I’m really hoping this means it’ll be Fire/Ghost
Probably won't happen as that would make him the objectively best choice type-wise and it would also mean we'll get another Water/Fairy starter to balance it out.
