Imma be one of the ones that have been pleasantly surprised with everything being shown. The overall concept seems cool and the fact that there are "three" stories sounds promising. I do hope they all sort of intersect at some points but I like that you can technically dedicate yourself (at least I hope so) to different approaches at Pokemon training.

Terastral sounds less centralizing than any of the previous gimmicks while also adding depth. Legends was a fun experience for me and it showed Gamefreak going in the right direction, one that I enjoyed actually. I was actually invested in completing the game and not just going through the motions like I have been since Alola.

Also, the new ice whale looks great and it having thick fat makes it worth considering for a spot on the team.

Seems kind of fitting because this shit didn't seem to start happening until Pokemon started making regions inspired from the United States and Western Europe.
Yeah I really miss Pokemon regions being based in Japan. In fact Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee and BDSP although based on existing regions still kept the same vibe when it came to characters, the Let's Go Games could've stayed from that but they didn't.

Orre and Unova were fortunate in the time they got released in, western society is too cucked for me to want regions based on it anymore. On top of all that Game Freak does wrong, they definitely reflect the cultural and social aspects of the regions fairly accurate to the era they release the game in.

What are you? /pol/?

I love when weebs on Twitter and 4chan act like Japan is this anti woke paradise untainted by sjw ideology and any woke shit there is 100 percent the west's doing.
Rate me autistic, but for the most part that's true.

Not denying Japan has degeneracy of it's own but when it comes to something woke there is usually western money and influence involved.

I mean, there isn't much going for the northern part of the main island culturally or geographically, and it's hard to see the area of Japan between where Johto and Hoenn are being able to be much of its own region since there isn't much land to work with. And before you point out the gaps between the kanto/johto, hoenn, and sinnoh routes the IRL Japanese routes have large gaps of missing numbers themselves

Yes because noticing how pozzed western society has become = MUH /POL/ USER GRRRR

How do you use this forum and not see how modern western society has been directly responsible for creating these lolcow abominations?
I'm sorry, for a moment I thought we were on Kiwi Farms: The forum dedicated to making fun of retards.

You sound like someone that frequents /pol/ and I'm just saying it how it is.

I'm two pages late but on the topic of main character designs: think the last male design I truly liked was the gen 3 protagonist, hilbert from BW was alright, gen 6 and gen 7 felt too generic and samey for my taste, guess gen 8 is fine and lastly I don't like either of the gen 9 designs. Sometimes it feels like all the effort goes into the design of the female trainer.
The UI is super minimalist. I don't hate it, but it's verging on stuff you find in mobile games.
Tbh I never thought of minimalist UIs being the realm of mobile games. On that topic, remember the bitching from ubishit devs about elden ring's UI and everyone clowning on them? I didn't truly appreciate minimal UIs until I finished the game and went back to FF14 and pso2 and my god, the amount of shit on screen began bothering the ever living shit out of me.
Edit: I am an idiot, you guys meant minimalistic, not minimal
I wonder if the UI elements are placeholders, they look way too simple

They're possibly trying to blur the line between the genders with the designs, even the clothing seems that way.
Yeah I was kind of wondering about that too tbh.

I think making protagonists this bland will ultimately backfire on them because of how much harder it is for the memers and coomer fan artists to have interest in them. Regardless of the people who draw them aged up or not, fan art and content of the protagonists is something that usually drives the hype train, and I've seen almost no one who is excited for these games make any content or memes about these bland blank slates.

Even last Gen for example, all the memes with Gloria being Scottish helped get the fans excited for Galar despite looking like a bland lazy game. Or with Gen 7 with people calling the girl Chicken Chan.
