Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

I spent like 6 hours yesterday trying to get Crystal Clear to run on my Anbernic but it crashes the entire system after five minutes like clockwork.

So I didn’t mention it earlier, but Gimmieghoul’s evolution makes me immediately think of a 90’s “cool” mascot for cereal or a drink or something and I kinda love him for it. Had to put it on my team even though I had Ghost and Steel coverage already.

I have caught one non-story shiny in all the mainline Pokemon games ever released, it was a shiny Goldeen in Crystal. In fairness I've never gone hunting.
In my case it was an Oddish in Emerald, if you don't count ROMhacks.

the cereal is shaped like coins.

Further Counterpoints: Milo, Piers, Habu, Allister, Nessa, and Opal.

Also, Raihan's seven feet tall, and him taking a selfie during his battle is actually kinda funny.

He's supposed to be a joke referencing how parents always tell their kids that if they eat their vegetables, they'll grow big and strong.

Didn't know this meme but the one where the body is kind of an exoskeleton the kid wears.

I'm enjoying the event raids multiplayer. overall this game has fulfilled its cost with entertainment and I just wish Shin Megami Tensei was up to this level at this point.

No shiny for met yet but how? This gen is supposed to be easier than other. (:_(
I can almost guarantee you've spawned at least one in and didn't see it because GameFreak is too stupid to give them any overworld indicators besides the color difference.

Oof. Gen 2 shinies are also notoriously trash. Unlike Gen 3+, shinies in Gen 2 needed a specific set of IV values.

C&P from Bulbapedia:
In Generation II, being Shiny is determined by a Pokémon's IVs. If a Pokémon's Speed, Defense, and Special IVs are all 10, and its Attack IV is 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14 or 15, it will be Shiny.

IV's in Gen 2 were 0-15, so shinies weren't the  worst, but they couldn't be used competitively at all.

Have an extra shiny veluza here. If people want him just hit me up

Well if they're going to make shines this easy to find then I think that's my cue to dip out of pokemon for now. It's a petty reason for sure, but the fun of old school full odds hunting comes from the challenge and if GF won't even give me that then I have no reason to give them my money.

I bring good tidings of YouTube links. Shiny catching has been broken by the update to the point of 2-5 minutes to manipulate a shiny with picnics and the pop in of Pokémon due to hardware limitations.
Item duping still exists if you still have cloned ride Pokémon from the previous version.
I fully expect a 1.1.0 duping glitch to be discovered as people continue to try different combinations of glitching. If its still possible if you have the duped Pokémon its a matter of time before a solely 1.1.0 reliant method is discovered.

I booted up one switch and loaded the 1.0.1 version before patch, I installed the 1.1.0 on another. Still have not played a second of the games buy its been fun just to keep up with news of it.

Now, to be fair, the ease of finding shines in this game is entirely up to the player. If you want to challenge yourself and hunt for one with the lowest odds possible, be my guest.

Game Freak gave us the tools. It's not their fault that the more technical players optimized the perfect recipe to get them as often as possible.

Besides, while I get why the absurd rarity was a part of the fun, these are glorified palette swaps.

I've actually been mulling over an idea since the odds have become what they are. You could very easily keep the odds at 1/512 and keep the "mystique" of shinies by introducing more than 1 shiny variant, and I'm not talking those stupid "square sparkles" from Gen 8. Shinies are technically "mutants", and "mutants" in nature sure as hell aren't consistent like shinies are.

Granted at that point we would be getting "color slider" palette swaps, because just adding 1 more shiny form each is another 1000+ models that need to be made. It's a pipe dream from a development standpoint, but it would be nice.

Well I decided to grind through the Gym Leader rematches and the Academy Ace Tournament because I completely forgot that 7-Star Event Raids are only available if you unlock 6-Star raids. it wasn't too difficult for the most part.

I also managed to solo the Charizard Raid with Sylveon using the Pixilate-Hyper Beam method that's been mentioned on various spaces. People have been hyping Azumarill and Dachsbun but IIRC Azumarill is currently bugged whilst Dachsbun needs a bit of support even when taking Well-Baked Body into consideration.

I suppose all that's left now is to complete those classes, catch the Treasures of Ruin, and raid/breed/shiny hunt until I get bored or DLC is announced.

Oh, and my collection of Shinies grows...
Stantler (full odds), Makuhita (full odds), Hoppip (full odds), Meditite (full odds), Noibat (Outbreak boost and Picnic reset only), Rotom (Outbreak boost and Picnic reset only), Croagunk (full odds), Rufflet (Outbreak boost and Picnic reset only), Rellor (full odds), Brute Bonnet (Sparkling Power Lv. 3), Zwilous (Sparkling Power Lv. 3), Flutter Mane (Sparkling Power Lv. 3), Meowth (full odds), Hawlucha (full odds)

Funny, I had the same idea. It's unlikely, sure, but I feel like that's the next logical step if Shinies are being made somewhat more common now.
