They did that with Rayquaza, Zekrom, and Reshiram. Air Lock is the same as Cloud Nine, and Turboblaze/Teravolt are the same as Mold Breaker.

I find her T-shirt more annoying than the hat.
 
I really wish they'd go back to giving us cocky asshole rivals instead of friends who constantly praise you. With rivals like Gary and Silver, you saw them change and become better people over time, and beating them felt good because you wanted to wipe the smirks off their faces. With the new 'rivals,' all they say is "Oh, you're so strong and cool, I'm gonna get stronger too!" They have no character arcs, they start out as nice people and end their journey as nice people. Their battles aren't challenging and their constant admiration gets old.

True enough. I just like being hopeful of them actually doing something a little more different/unique as far as abilities and types. It's sad seeing them not creating new combinations, especially since the introduction of Fairy types, and sticking to already-used typings and abilities.

Yeah, doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Tons of people were expecting Solgaleo to be part fire and Lunala to be part dark, which would make the most sense. But of course they don't go the sensible route with the whole thing.

Sometimes I really wonder what they're thinking when they make some of these Poke'mon.

I feel like Dark/Fairy would have been perfect for Lunala. I don't hate the Psychic/Ghost typing, but something new would have been more appreciated, especially considering Lunala is pretty much a space-moon bat.

I am loving every god damn thing announced. I even love the gay chicken hat.

1. I honestly don't know which legendary to love more. Their designs are stunning and adorable. gimme gimme gimme
2. Wow there's an actual black skin option for the darkies. Good for them-- the X/Y dark skin was a fucking joke we all know it.

Do you guys think Solgaleo's and Lunala's signature moves will be dual type, similar to Flying Press? Sunsteel Strike's name and animation make it look like a Fire/Steel move, and Moongeist Beam sounds like it could be a Ghost/Dark or maybe Fairy/Ghost move.

Just because they're nice and still nice at the end doesn't mean their character doesn't go through any development. It's been a while since I actually did a playthrough of X but I'm sure the 3 nice ones (not the opposite sex character) start out trying to collect badges and be good at battling and then come to terms with the fact their strengths lie elsewhere (dancing for fatso, pokedex filling for ginger midget) or at least the fact that they should move at their own pace instead of trying desperately to keep up with the MC (peppy girl who picks the weak one). Same with the ones in B/W, can't exactly remember what happens but Bianca has her own storyline involving her becoming an independant person and I can't really remember anything about Cheren. On the other hand, Gary starts out an asshole and stays an asshole. Brendan/May were bland as all hell. Barry (was that his name?) starts hyperactive and stays hyperactive and slows down only a little bit. The only one who had any real character arc was Silver because he eventually learns not to be a cunt.

Well, Sunsteel strike did neutral damage on Salamence, a Dragon/Flying type who resists fire and receives neutral damage from steel, so it's hard to say right now if it's dual-typed since Salamence didn't resist the move; at the very least it's Steel-typed based on the logic, but it could also do fire-type damage that simply didn't register a "not very effective" note due to being the secondary typing of the move.

Gengar took super-effective damage from Lunala's Moongeist Beam, so it wouldn't be primary Fairy at the very least since Gengar resists that; it could primarily be either Ghost, Psychic, or Dark, though considering it's a signature move I imagine it's STAB and either Psychic or Ghost. It's possible it could have a secondary type to it like Flying Press, but since Gengar is weak to both of Lunala's STAB types, I don't want to presume it does. Though if I had to speculate a dual-typing for the move, I'd gun more for Ghost/Dark.

I thought that too, but nope! Going through AS with no Exp. Share (turned it off immediately) and only 1 loss so far because Rich Boy on rt. 103 is a bitch with that Full Restore. (It's a Zigzagoon, child, chill the fuck out)

When you go through the Fighting Gym using a lv. 18 Skitty only spamming Cosmic Power and Echoed Voice without a Metronome Hold Item yet, something has gone horribly wrong. (Made the risk on purpose to test it, just had to Pokemon Center after each Warmup trainer)


And on to today's announcements:

Ghost/Psychic Legendary has won my heart. You have the shittiest 4x weakness to Dark, but I am a sucker for a Ghost Type that looks the damn fine!
It looks like a Kirby's Dreamland villain. I'm going to name you Nightmare!

I was already set on getting Moon and naming the legendary Gwyndolin. Knowing it gets absolutely wrecked by Dark makes it even more perfect for me.

These are actually all pretty cool! I'm gonna also guess they're probably fake because the Litten evolution looks like a wrestler, which they did with Emboar. They're almost the exact same Pokemon, just one's a pig.

I REALLY HOPE THESE ARE THE REAL THING THOUGH

The idea for the wrestler cat is that he's a heel (that's a wrestling term meaning the bad guy who fights dirty), look at the picture and you'll notice him whacking Pikachu with a table, so Fire/Dark is also feasible. Assuming the thing is real, which is unlikely.
