Game Freak are being very unsubtle about their hints toward a Unova remake, the "Hoenn remakes confirmed!!!1!!1!11!!!" people must've gotten to them. As a massive Unova sperg, I still have some hope, but the PS2-era glitchfests they're shitting out have me worried.

Imagine waiting 13 years to finally see what the original Kyurem looks like and they proudly present a faithful remaster.
No, we need to consider this in the terms of how Game Freak thinks. We can't just have a repeat of Legends Arceus which worked. We need something unexpected, something that'll everyone will ask "what, why?" So let's put on our speculation caps:

They're going to make Black & White 3. The story will be entirely disconnected from the first two minus some cameos by N, the message/moral will focus on nihilism with an uncompleted Kyurem being the symbol of nihilism instead of truth vs. ideals as the urban sprawl of Castelia City increasingly infringes on the natural habitat in the region, but not do a very good job of explaining WHY nihilism is a destructive force. For some reason they'll bring Giovanni back again to serve an anti-villain role acting as the foil to a main antagonist who's actions interfere with Giovanni's plans to rebuild his criminal empire in Unova. The antagonist will be a hedonistic anarchist (bumbled because there's not a family friendly way to successfully present such a character) with no real goals that will attempt to destroy Unova for lulz or something.

No idea on the gimmick.

Well, at least that'd be an interesting trashfire, much more entertaining than the boring exposition dump that was the Delta Episode in ORAS.

Why? That would be very faithful to Black and White. Isn’t that what you want?
On the graphics side, the pixel art look far better than the desaturated 3D models they've been reusing for the last four generations. And on the glitch side, Gen V is one of the most stable generations, especially compared to the Switch titles.

I remember vaguely reading somewhere that there was someone in game in XY that would inducate the size of gourgiest. Anyone know where that is?

On gimmicks, that's actually what pisses me off the most about Tera. while it's the most boring to look at, it's also, by far, the most fun to use and well implemented. And they decided to do this by putting stupid fucking hats on the mons.

But rather than hearing the critism of the stupid fucking hats, and iterating to make the game better, they're just going to remove the system and start over next game. And probably have an app to deliver food to you in further efforts to cut down on the good idea of camping.

I can honestly tolerate TPC dropping shit stories and characters. They've been doing it since R/S. I can deal with dexit, as fucking retarded penny pinching as it is. I can deal with shit graphics, because who gives a fuck, you autistic shits, it's pokemon, not fucking Crysis.

But the fact that they continually add universally beloved mechanics (I.E. petting and getting to interact with your mon, or just having them out and about with you), or even just interesting ways to interact with the game/give you more shit to do (PokeSynch, The movie...thing from black/white, or secret bases.), only to throw them in the trash the very next game, for literally no reason, will never not actually make me angry.

Yes, I'm still mad at losing Pokemonamie and contests, why do you ask?

Edit: Clarification

Well we got balloon popping for two games in a row so who knows? Maybe in the hypothetical Gen 5 remake they'll replace the old PDW minigames with you haplessly running around chasing balloons.

I jumped back into competitive (mostly Gen 9 OU) a while ago and using tera was a lot of fun. My main, Steel Hydreigon or defensive electric Hydreigon, is a blast to use and makes the opponents as salty as toxic showdown players can get. Too bad the ugly legendary beasts are the top of the food chain, i don't want to look at those all the time.
Out of all the features gf added since gen 6, tera is the most balanced imo and you can make use of surprise effect to gain momentum.
The megas were good for things like beedrill finally becoming viable, but generally just turned already good pokemon into OP Ubers.
Z Moves can be fun and tactical to play around with random protect and switching around into immunities. You have to read your opponent when he will use his Z move and then play around,.
Dynamax is the dumbest shit that ever existed, their ban was completely justified. Should have put the effort for making the boring and long ass dynamax animation into including the whole national dex.

If you count the paradox forms as a gimmick instead of a regional form, their protosynthesis ability is kind of an edge too powerful and screams for weather abuse teams.
If their boost was triggered by Booster Energy only, it would be perfectly balanced i think, as you're sacrificing your Item slot to get a boost on an already powerful pokemon, like the Z moves did. Protosynthesis in the sun is a free choice item without the choice, thats more imbalanced than Galarian Darmanitan, who was banned.

The following is me afte reading that stuf from the Stellar type in this thread:

Then again, I am still rather confused on how Terastalisation works in the first place.

Japanese celebrities and content creators told not to mention Palworld, as to not bring upon daddy Gamefreak's or Nintendo's wrath on themselves.
Someone in Tokyo is sweating right now

So what are the odds that Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will cuck out, as if he didn't already cuck out enough to the West already, and pass an Emergency Ruling to try to make Palworld illegal in Japan? Does the PM in Japan have the power to do that, like how Justin Trudeau did because truckers were honking in Ottawa? And if yes, then that would make Kishida even more of a cuck than how Trudeau is.

Being a GF higher-up must be hilarious right now, watching the entertainment industry scrambling to suck your cock in order to not miss out on those lucrative deals you've never mentioned you'd back out of in the first place.

Kishida is a cuck and a coward, but he doesn't have some executive power to outright ban video games just because they're "problematic". Unless Nintendo or GF lobbies for it, I don't see the issue reaching parliament either.

Changing abilities maybe or fusing with your held item to open the item slot up for a second item or just two item slots. I get the impression after tera types they might stick with this gimmick type that can fundamentally change a core mechanic in a way that is unexpected.

I'm imaging something like equipping a wide lens to boost accuracy then equip life orb to boost damage or life orb and leftovers, etc.

Just a guess.

What I'm curious about is what new way of making Pokémon variants we'll get next. In order we got Mega Evolutions, Regional Variants, Gigantamax, and Paradox Pokémon. Seems like they're determined to make this stick, so I'm sure it'll happen for the upcoming generation too.

I hope they introduce more convergent evolutions. That way fans don't need to worry about their faves being usurped by a regional variant while GF can get lazy save some resources on monster designs. Although their stats should be more thought through tho (I'm looking at you Wugtrio)
