Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I had these ideas too. Kowloon was in Hong Kong.
The ideas write themselves.

As for some bits, maybe the mayor/leader of the boat would be Drake/Steven, who would stop with pokémon battles and rock collection in order to succeed his father as the president of Devon corporation, who would involve themselves more with technology like a amazon equivalent delivering stuff on the seas or short propellers to move people around the water without pokemon. One cool bit would be watson helping the devon corporation to create a termo energy cable system from the vulcan to supply energy to all of hoenn with underwater cables (that would also be targets of underwater pirates)

As for team aqua, maybe Archie would be a prison leader since the crime rate would increase, he would be the first in this prison in one of the underwater caves alongside other criminals like pirates, so maybe one story would be about him escaping the prison or something with other agents of team aqua helping from outside.

As for character writing, I would like to see norman relationship with Ruby/sapphire to be bad since they took their mother side on the divorce and left hoenn to go back to johto and norman stayed to help rebuilding.

Maybe the rival would have bad feelings for the rival who left or something.

Maybe new teams with Juan and wallace as their leader.

There are some places where I have no idea about what to do like the desert, the tree city, the ice cave and so on, but I would love to see more cave systems being dug out and have more underground/underwater cities (maybe maintaned by some bullshit pokemon like manaphy or something.

problems like xenophobia
groups of pirates trying to steal people on the seas
Fight for resources like drinkable water and river water in case of farms
making some pokemon hunters straight up killing pokemon in case of dunno
I would like to see norman relationship with Ruby/sapphire to be bad since they took their mother side on the divorce
Honestly, I hate the more edgier concepts. Maybe it would work for a grimdark fangame.
Submerged or no longer dry.
Submerged, probably.
the tree city
Would still exist and be improved upon using normal materials.

The nature of the fictional game would be edgier naturally. It would feel wrong to make this idea set 8 years later and to not have people angry at their situation.

The 8 year gap actually helps me justify some changes in the map and how they happened, for example lets say the desert was going to be flooded, since they can barricade it with stones. Or even making it an artificial dam to store/stop water.

In Rustboro for example since it is a big city, the gym trainer/devon/steven could help by making a wall with stone, stopping the water, using the mountain above verdantuff tunnel as material.

Existing structures like the cyclo path would be turned into something else as a path or even a new city alongside it like a dock to boats.

It all depends of how high you want the water and how you justify the changes that the characters would have on the event. For example I can see the diggers at verdantuff town making barriers or moats between their town and mauville to stop the water or diminish their impact or just leave the town and go up the mountain.

All this talk about deserts reminds me that the desert in Unova is like 1 city block and features an ancient ruin replete with mummies and ancient constructs within Repel distance of two major cities. Unova is fucking wild.
I imagine the Japanese just can't comprehend the scale of the US.

"So we're making an America region right? What kind of climate do they have?? WHAT!? ALL OF THEM!?"

Edit:
Did wally die from his asthma when the flood happened?
Wally has been entombed in a new submarine named the Iron Lung to escape the increase in allergens. Some say it's just his ghost piloting the sub now... you can encounter him occasionally patrolling the depths looking for his long lost (drowned) male Gardevoir... His only love in this life... or the next.

Jesus just got an idea for Juan/wallace team. They could capture/steal ice pokémon from the normal people that could learn ice moves in order to create icebergs and send it to north/sinnoh, bit by bit in order to lower the water level. It sounds retarded so the big brain move would involve regice + some special rock or even evolution.

This sounds retarded, because it actually kinda happens in the superman returns movie with lex luthor's plan was to make a new country out of kryptonite and sell the land and get rich lol.

And most of the main tomb in the desert it is locked until later in the big plot of the game.

Did wally die from his asthma when the flood happened?
Only in the Ruby equivalent lol.

Wally would thrive on sea hoenn with his milotic

My main point should have been the region would be noticeably worse and have a sadder tone but there's a line to be drawn. The Pokémon world already has many dangerous Pokémon roaming about and evil teams trying to destroy the world without it losing its cheery aesthetic. For example, pirates kidnapping random people feel like such an escalation to me.

Hard agree. Worldbuilding is one thing but that sort of edginess can get just dumb. Divorce with Norman is also dumb. It would be way more interesting to see the family trying to stick together and cope with their new life, running into hardships but always coming back to each other in the end. That'd be real kino.

Take my money.
He's a mysterious loner that only follows his own agenda, like zinnia from the delta episode. Sometimes helping the pirates, sometimes aiding the player or inflicting aids on others.
You can fight him as a secret superboss after you defeated big bad and captured legendary.
He can't leave the submarine, so after defeating his Team, you'll fight the Iron Lung like the team star starmobiles.
He will fire Gardevoir shaped torpedos with a suspicious brown stain on top at you.
After defeating him, he recognizes you, apologize it took him so long as he is autistic and also mental load, thanks you for helping to catch ralts and the Iron Lung collapses.
Suddenly, Gardevoirs ghost appears out of nowwhere and happily takes him to the afterlife.

Ah for the tone of the story would be something like Pokémon Special manga storylines, it is more realistic and well built than the plot of the games but not near adultlike in tone, just the right amount.

One important bit that I left out is that since the people that still lives on hoenn are the kind that have hopes for a better future by rebuilding it or adapting to this new nature.

Except this can't happen, would the protagonist (you) live on hoenn and never left petalburg in 8 years? If the family sticks together be it in hoenn or johto, it would shines a bad light into either the family for not knowing shit about this new hoenn or norman.

For a son/daughter to understand the father perspective that to help others may be more interesting/realistic than just staying up together as a family.

Recently in this year, the State of Rio Grande do Sul was flooded by a colossal amount of rain, and was flooded for a month.

There are various cases of people dying by trying to help others, leaving their safe homes to go help people in the flooded area, and some even dying in the process. I see Norman as one of these people, not one who would leave hoenn, but of course ruby/sapphire mother would value the safety of the kids over a region they don't grew up, so that is the point of this choice.

And of course, this is something that happens to the protagonist itself in the normal games (emerald he goes to the sky pillar) and of course Ruby in the manga storyline does put himself in danger in order to protect sapphire

It be a nice story beat to see that the moment things went to shit Norman dropped everything and clamored to get to his wife and kid to ensure their safety.

So you're denying the history of absent fathers, saying it's not very dark being raised by a single mom?
Little wonder Red never says a word.

Maybe I am too influenced by Pokemon Special, since this kinda happened to Norman as he took the blame for Ruby's action and was banned for being a gym trainer and had to capture the escaping salamence that ruby released. But I like this type of cool dad that accepts the higher responsability even when it isn't something that he wants himself, he never said anything about what happened and just took the blame.

PokeSpe is fun, but it's completely at odds with the main series and any attempt to cross them over is always incredibly edgy and autistic. They're just tonally incongruous.

Even the darker stories in pokemon like PMD or BW are just written and framed in completely different ways, you really have to approach it from a specific voice for serious topics to not sound retarded.

Edit oh tbf Z-Moves are boring as heck.
Z-moves and megas in the same game were actually awesome.
Idk maybe my perspective is a bit off because I prefer to play competitive battles and tournaments but it’s all been dogshit since the move to the switch. Sword and shield were alright but it felt too shallow and making mon giant is fucking gay.
Turning them into crystals is fucking gay! The potential type change can be good in a very specific instance to neutralize a hit but the loss of your STAB is way more significant.

Legends was really fun to play but it’s not a serious game for people that want to place in worlds.

What really sucks is that the only actual resource to get new players introduced to the PVP is a 3rd party website filled with pedophiles and troons (showdown and Reddit)
Wolf dick is going to be running the show to an increasingly small competition scene forever

Personally I dont really play online so maybe that's why I don't like them so much. Tera is my favorite gimmick though because it gives you so many options and on every single pokemon. In theory, a defensive tera at the right moment can make any pokemon viable really because it happens at the start of the turn. It also let's you give pokemon that are crying out for certain types what they deserve, like Luxray and dark type (he still kinda sucks, though). It also gives you an extra slot to hold your tera type so you're not wasting an item, and you can do it with any of the six which allows you to adapt. Plus, you can do stuff like tera poison with something you don't mind sacrificing and swap in and out to soak up toxic spikes and stuff like that.

I don't know, to me, the other gimmicks just purely buff your pokemon (not you, mega Garchomp...) But tera only really helps if your strategy pays off and that's kinda cool to me. I quite liked the tera raids as a change of pace aswell sometimes to break up the gameplay loop, although like I said I don't do online so I just pulled in bots.

Then again, I'm the guy who said they not only liked Let's Go but wanted a sequel, and I'm a gen wunner, so maybe I'm just retarded.

Anyone else like tera the most?

Making Chatot scream obscenities in battle was my favorite gimmick. I guess teratypes are pretty good though.
