Here's a little tidbit about the flight ability: There's a spot in the Area Zero Underdepths that's only accessible with it. Said room contains an uncatchable Stellar Tera Type Garchomp and when you beat it a pathway leading to a "treasure" room containing a bunch of Tera Shards, a couple of TMs, and a Premier Ball is unlocked.
oh, /that's/ how you get to the treasure room! i'll have to faff about the underdepths again. i was actually kind of underwhelmed by the underdepths tbh. idk, it just feels.. incomplete, somehow

Okay, I have to share this outrageously stupid "leak".
It honestly never made sense that the Kalos starters (and Kalos Pokémon in general) didn't get Mega Evolutions. If there were plans originally, they could've brought them in later, though they ended up dropping the concept rather quickly.

So if the leak is true, Game Freak was getting in way over their heads with this gimmick, but at least other Gen Pokémon getting some love would've helped even if balance got borked.

thank you! updated the thread link in the original post with an archive

yeah, I still think this is probably just some kid looking to get attention, but damn is he good at predicting the absolute worst-case/funniest scenario. I do genuinely hope it's real just because it would be so insanely fucking stupid that I'd never be able to take the future of the series seriously again
If it was made by gamefreak employee it would look like this

Had a variations of Pokedance video show up, and I was wondering how the original looked like. Why does the billion dollar franchise product looks infinitely shittier than what fans did seemingly within a week of the original?

I think the gen 3 animation is kinda shit, but the rest are fine. Arent all these fan creations anyway, just commissioned by someone at Gamefreak.

The dancing humans are trash and the starters barely have personalities. What an absolute letdown.

had to consult a fucking walkthrough to show me where the secret cave was. i was disappointed that the stellar garchomp was so easy, but then again i was using a souped-up alolan ninetales. tbh i wish the tera shards were just more premier balls. at least i use the premier balls more often than the tera shards.

you can actually fly all the way up to the tera crystal in the terrarium. on top of the crystal are 3-4 items - 1 gold bottle cap, 1 ability patch, and i forget the rest. still, it's cute they put anything up there at all, or that it's even accessible.

i've been doing the stupid fucking bbqs (blueberry quests) because i want to get the species expansions in each biome so i can finally catch at least 200 pokemon in my blueberry pokedex so i can talk to that chick with the camera because she starts the quest for the remaining two paradox pokemon of each game's respective legendary trio (scarlet has the legendary dogs, violet has the musketeers) and paradox entei and raikou look cool as fuck and i want them desperately. anyway, i've got two of the biomes' species expansions so far. just two more to go @ 3000bp each woooooooooo~ *yawn**yawn**yawn**yawn**yawn**yawn**yawn**yawn**yawn**yawn*

I'm almost done with my pla catch challenge for Home, I'm just missing ones that spawn in deminsional rifts.
And fucking Magby.
I know where Magby spawns, I've seen hundreds in massive mass outbreaks, but now, when I need them most, they're nowhere...

On the plus side, I learned I can go into the volcano and get mud balls. I thought the volcano was like the lake trio caves, and couldn't be reentered.

So that's nice.

Well a friend of mine just gifted me a ticket to this year's in-person GO Fest event as a belated Christmas present, they even threw in the two citywide gameplay add-ons and the Egg-thusiast add-on to it. If you're wondering why he didn't include the Raid Enthusiast add-on it's because, when we were talking about getting early-bird tickets, we both mentioned that didn't see the value in it if you don't take part in 10+ raids during GO Fest's three-day run.

And the Galar Pokédex is going well, I've hit a slight snag in the form of getting Turtonator and Drampa since they're version exclusives with a 2% chance of being found in the Lake of Outrage under certain weather conditions (Turtonator Sword-exclusive and found under intense sun, Drampa is Shield-exclusive found under thunderstorms) but I can fix that with breeding. I also failed to remember that Trevenant isn't found in the wild while Gourgeist is for some unknown reason.

I completely forgot about that bit. IIRC the other item is just 50 Stellar Tera Shards.

The thing about Blueberry Quests is that the amount you get doing solo missions is ass but the amount you get from co-op missions is pretty good, I've seen people on /vp/ get enough to pay for all of the necessary upgrades to both the homeroom area and the Terarium with enough to spare for lord knows how many Item Printer runs.

Magby was a bit of pain for me when I was completing the PLA dex too, I ultimately found it in a Massive Mass Outbreak in the Alabaster Icelands. Just keep cycling through Massive Mass Outbreaks until you get one.

The Pokémon found in Space-Time Distortions can be a pain in the ass due to the way the game decides to generate one, you kind of have to enter the area you want to hunt and sit around until one generates without leaving the area or altering time at a campsite. And then you have to hope that you get the Pokémon you want since only three "rare" Pokémon spawn per distortion.

When I see fan-made pocketmons cards online, they always have ludicrous HP and moves. Looks like they are always made by little kids.
Probably because they are. I remember some Pokemon magazine back in the aughts even had a section dedicated specifically to fan-made card submissions. The only one I remember was one called 'Ho-Ho' which was just Ho-oh put into a cake roll.

Speaking of losing faith in the future of this franchise

So there was that teraleak a while back that had a lot of development material for a lot of the games, and in there with all the autistic mythology ramblings for DP was this-

A very nice and thoughtful idea of how the Pokemon world should be seen, as a balance between technology and nature, with neither on its own being better or desirable and with the semi-utopia of the Pokemon world stemming from the balance between the two. This really caught my eye because it's something I always loved about the franchise, both the shameless optimism and the somewhat unique worldbuilding that resulted from the harmony between the two just being taken as a base assumption. And it's something I've felt had been lacking in some of the newer games, to their extreme detriment. But I've found it hard to explain that, usually getting some drooling retard response of "but durr the Pokemon games is still about the Pokemon and duh pipple so it's fine??". I think I've gone into some autism about that here, I dunno.

So imagine my surprise when I find (and I can't be fucked to find it again) the development notes for Arceus basically say "the people of the past are retarded and need big strong present-time protagonist to come fix their shit for them". For fucks sake.

I'm also too lazy to find this but there was a note for BW talking about how it shouldn't go into detail about how the Seven Sages get arrested or whatever because something mundane like that would ruin the fantasy image of the games... and then SWSH just goes and has Rose and the bros arrested after their utterly underwhelming storylines. Man.

I have the slightest remaining sliver of hope for ZA since the leaker said the story was good but "people" think SM was well written so who the fuck knows.

It's shit like this that makes me miss Masuda all the more. Say what you want about his era, but I will completely discount any blind retard who can't see how much he truly loved the concept of the franchise. Regardless of the gameplay, regardless of the arguable stagnation, it is impossible to deny how dedicated Masuda was to making the world work and it is the main reason I cannot in good faith truly adore any game past X or Y. Not even ORAS, as strange as that sounds, due to all the retarded timeline bullshit and insulting changes to Hoenn's traversal.

I really REALLY hope Ohmori just gets fucking booted after the disasters that generations 8 and 9 have been. He's already had as much time in the position as Masuda and yet has done so much less, on so many levels, in so many ways. I wouldn't dare ask for Masuda to return after what generation 5 did to him, but I'd love someone with an equally-bright spark regarding the older-school worldbuilding to take the helm.
