Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Apparently, you need enough gym badges to catch certain leveled pokemon, the dude got a message saying that he could catch up to level 25, found a level 27 Sneasel, and it refused to catch it. IDK how true this is, I just read it on Reddit but if it's true, and I assume that is. That is a terrible feature, especially in the wild where over leveled pokmon are supposed to show up...
Its the trade restriction applied to wild area. Its the only thing that makes sense.

Seems cool, always wanted to see what a 2d giant safari zone type area would be like for fan games, what is it called?

It's called Pokemon Rejuvenation. (https://www.rebornevo.com/forum/index.php?/topic/48657-v13-status-thread/)

It's still in development, but, they've got about... 14 gym leaders to play, all pokemon, alternate shiny pokemon (shared quite a few a long while back in this thread), and the story...

Is balls to the wall insane and on the level of fanfiction.

But, the fact that you can choose your difficulty in the game - And yes, there is a difference - More than makes up for the balls insane story.

There are also plans for including Gen 8 in the next update.

Its the trade restriction applied to wild area. Its the only thing that makes sense.

Actually, to bring this in to talking about this fan game, they actually have a few things to point out -

They have level caps on your pokemon, basically, how strong your team is dependent on the number of badges. They won't gain EXP when they reach the level cap... BUT, you can break it by feeding them Rare Candies...

But you don't wanna do that. Cause like how people have been saying in this forum, even pokemon you catch yourself in this game will disobey you if they're over the level cap.

Honestly, I'd prefer this kind of system in an actual PKM game.

I know I'm shilling hard for this game, but from a game design perspective, it's really good - Too bad the story really, really, REALLY makes me cringe - Especially when it doesn't know which character it wants to consider the main character. Then again, I'm willing to put up with the fanfiction level story for this game because of it's difficulty, changes to gameplay...

Also, there's a sidequest in the latest game where there's a Goomy that looks like Link from LoZ, and you help him become the hero of legend...

I can't say no to that creative idea for a sidequest.

Oh my God there's a level cap, isn't there? You can't level up after a certain point for a while, can you? Is this Game Freak's plan to try to get rid of the (traded) Pokemon disobedience? :stress:

Doesn't seem like it, though that just causes Exp share to be an even bigger pain in the ass then usual

The battle backgrounds are all over the place. Sometimes they match up perfectly. You fight Hop on a big bridge, the battle background is the bridge and surrounding area.

Yet when you fight some Team Yell grunts on the same type of bridge, suddenly the battle background is a field? With the bridge far off in the distance? What?

These battles take place in the exact same location, literally back to back.

To be fair, for the team yell battle, you are seen to be near the edge of the bridge. It would be just as strange as to have the battle scene be on the bridge than having it be in the distance.

Ah yes, it would be so strange to have a fight on the bridge everyone in the fight was already standing on.

Seems like every day there's something new to sperg about with this game. Most of the changes i don't really care about, the only thing i don't like is the exp share. Graphics are fine to me, music is fine to me, the new mons are pretty interesting to me and i'm happy Gyms are back one of the things i look forward to the most in each game is the gym gimmicks.

Considering everything else going on in this shitshow of a game, improper scaling is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. But in this instance I think it's amusing to point out that it looks like Wailord got shrunken down even further.

To give a sense of perspective, this is what it looked like in the GameCube titles.

retardkun (the streamer and restreamers) and Nintendo are just playing a cat and mouse game, and it's fucking hilarious.

Here's the current stream as of this writing.

If stream is kill, go to /vp/ to keep updated.

Ironically enough this nintendo vs. leaker shit is more fun then I have had with pokemon since the 3ds era began

PKM shouldn't have gone 3d.

Seriously, if they had kept to the 2d style of BW2, with the animated sprites - the following complaints wouldn't happen:
1) No limited dex - Sprites wouldn't take as much data, obviously
2) The sprites would be a lot easier to develop as well as the pixel art, and more could be put into the games
3) 2d sprites are still applicable today - Heck, make a game like Octopath traveler style for PKM

Seriously, I know people wanted pokemon to go 3d for a long time, but ever since it did, the games just didn't have that charm.

That's the unfortunate thing though, the console games from Stadium to Battle Revolution more than proved Pokemon in 3D could be done well with charm to spare (just the fainting animations alone are full of personality for many of them). But once again when Game Freak does it, everything all falls apart. If they were a decent sized group of developers (let's say 300 strong at the minimum, more than double what they have now) with proper management and communication like the majority of other AAA IP teams, there's not a doubt in my mind the dreams of a fully realized HD console Pokemon experience would be a reality.

But sadly, that is not the timeline we reside in...

as if reusing assets weren't enough, now they're reusing 3ds technology
