I've been trying to stay impassive when it comes to political topics. I never really like the discord it sows. But for a while now I've been seeing how everybody has been screaming for equality and I don't think they understand what they're asking for. I always end up thinking about Harrison Bergeron and the parallels it draws to our problems now and it's the only future I can see. That or some kind of revolution that will make everything much worse. Sorry I just had to vent. How concerned is everyone truly? Are all of you ready to receive your handicaps?

I haven`t lived in the US for almost two decades now. Seeing it from the outside is like watching a car crash in slow-motion.

One of the great things about the `ronies are the restrictions on international travel, which means that I don`t have to deal with American tourists. Every time I encounter another American (and many other English speakers), within a minute or two they`re probing me for my politics. “Trump sucks, huh?” *closely watches your reaction*

It got to the point that I would pretend that I don`t speak English.
 
I just hold my beliefs and live according to them, that's the most anyone can REALLY do. You can screech and bitch and moan all day long, but that rarely actually gets anything done.
It's best to disengage from these useless conversations and just focus your effort on living a good life, whatever that means to you in specific.
 
We already have our handicaps, they're called society. Look at Occupy Wall Street, you had a bunch of mostly white women changing the target from crooked politicians and bankers to straight whyte men. 80% of modern media is filled with black people in an effort to not have them chimp out. Some companies are openly saying they can only hire lesbian disabled trans Muslims for any position which matters. Prices are going to the moon. Schools invite pedophiles to give speeches and we have drag queen story hour.

occupy was black chicks bullying white women into letting black dudes and "native americans" nay say anything. the fact so many people were on the banks doorstep and managed to fuck it up made me not give a shit about anything political. people will scumfuck themselves out of what they claim they want. the politics is just a justification. people are less cool chimps, so live your life accordingly.

Slightly, but not terribly. I've worked pretty hard to future-proof my life. The land I own hasn't been specifically important to anyone for any reason since humans set foot in North America. As far as I can be reasonably certain I'm the only person in the history of the planet to reside on it. If it comes right down to it, it doesn't matter to me who's in charge or what they believe. As long as:

-Sunlight, soil, and water still make plants grow
-Animals still fuck and produce offspring
-A magnet moving through a coil still generates a current
-Rain still filters down through sediment and rock into the water table
-Gunpowder still reacts violently to a spark

Then I'm fine. The whole country can lose their minds and kill one another and they'd never even know I was up there.
