Political Differences Between Millenials and Zoomers - How do the two youngest adult generations compare with one-another, in terms of general political ideology

Surprisingly, this topic rarely gets discussed pretty much anywhere. Not irl, not anywhere on the internet, nor on Kiw Farms. Maybe because Gen-Z and Millenials likely don't differ too much in terms of ideology. Whatever the case may be, I'm still making this thread anyway. I still think it's worth discussing this topic, however minute the two generations may differ in terms of political opinion and attitudes

I'm curious to know your thoughs on how Gen-Z's politics differ from Millenial politics. What are your experience with these two generational groups? Is one group more left or right-wing than the other? Is Gen-Z more authoritarian than the Millenials, or vice-verca? Do individual issues matter more to one generation than the other? How has the lifestyle and environment of Gen-Z affected their views on politics compared to the Millenial generation?

Let's cuss at discs and discuss

Zoomers seem childish, because they are:

They're 26 at the oldest this year. What the fuck is a 26 year old going to understand with any depth? With what life experience can they evaluate the shit they've been told, the bullshit and lies, and the motes of truth hidden in all the shit?

They're still figuring out shit for themselves and, in some cases, learning to wake up from being told what to think and starting to think for themselves. So, too, are millennials.

I've heard millennials are behind in terms of growing up and maturing and being more conservative as a result. As a millennial myself I'd disagree, the last 11 years have made me turn right more and more.

I wonder what the Millennials here on the farms are like, opinion wise.

They got an increased spike in autism for my gen so I think even more retarded politics than millennials.

Real autism or "self-diagnosed" "autism"?

Remember, Gen Z is fake. Fake genders, fake pronouns, fake mental illnesses. They're actually INCREDIBLY neurotypical people who follow exactly what the media tells them to do.

So when is the counter culture that leans right going to appear already?

Millennials: The perfect age to get fucked over just right whenever the economy does a once in a life time collapse every decade. The ones who've made it are massive cunts who like to larp as oppressed people and leverage their position in society to actually oppress others. A large chunk of the ones who've made it like to sell Ism's particularly to the younger generations.

Zoomers: Completely mentally ill. Most believe in some sort of authoritarian ideology that are all are different flavors of communism. The normal ones are radicalized by their peers but not in the traditional sense as in absorbed into the psycho cult, they are radicalized via the crazies calling them the radicals and labeling them all the stink words in the book.

I thought the Zoomers in my family would eventually take up the role of tech support for the Boomers and Gen Xers, but that hasn't been the case. In fact, they're the most tech retarded of them all. Smart phone issue? They come by my house. Tablet issue? They're blowing up my phone. Having to do any kind of work on a desktop computer? They're completely lost. Meanwhile, they laugh at me for using burner emails, AI generated user photos, and fake profile info. Their digital footprints are massive. If one of them were to commit wrongthink or piss off a troon, they would quickly get fired from their job and kicked out of college, because their legal identity is tied to everything. And we all know that sane opinions and polite critiques are LiTeRaLlY vIoLeNcE if it hurts a certain group's feelings.

That's a bullshit excuse if I've ever heard one. Older generations had their shit figured out before they were 21, let alone goddamn 26. You HAD to figure shit out early. Now everyone doesn't. They don't have a reason, so they decide to be lazy dickheads.

Late millenial here. We are the last generation that is at least based in some departments, despite being generally insecure. We are the missing link between mislead good intentions of our parents and society-forced delusions of our children (if those children aren't 50 cats in a small apartment).
We are fucked up enough to suffer from identity crises, but not fucked up enough to be a complette mess that doesn't give a fuck as long as the dopamine keeps pouring. Feels bad man.
It's over for zoomers tho.

It's always been a huge misconception that zoomers were tech-literate than other generations. Millenials, probably sure. They had an analog childhood and a digital teen/adulthood. They grew-up actually having to learn how to use technology such as home computers and the internet, since those things were still pretty new at the time. While most zoomers grew-up with idiotproofed phones, game consoles and PC operating systems. Meaning they never had to learn as much as the Millenials, in terms of technology. The big tech companies made it so technology in the 2000's/2010's were sufficiently foolproofed for wider audiences
While zoomers get memed-on a shitload on the internet, from my experience, people tend to be a little overly-optimistic about Gen-Z. Possibly because they're the newest adult generation, making it easy to hype them up into being everything from the smartest generation yet to being the generation which will fix all the West's political and societal problems. I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed with Gen-Z, if they're not already. I don't even necessarily mean to shit on zoomers too much. They're still fairly young and have very little life experience. I just don't think they're exactly going to be the second-coming of Christ, even when they do gain sufficient life experience

True. Zoomers are fairly incompetent with tech when it comes to using the Phone/PC to your advantage.
They know all the right buttons to setup a Livestream and make a 4/10 appear as a 10/10 on insta but they don't know shit about the basics, like how to properly search for information from different sources online.
Gen X is pretty light-hearted with their data, too, but they've got their lifes under control and at least some common sense left.
Based on my experience irl, early Millenials tend to use tech most effectively and in the way it was originally intended to be used.

Its hard to tell, theres so much BS about the groups online. I think all groups have been moving to the right whether of their own accord or because the left is shifting the landscape.

I've heard that Gen Z is 'the most conservative generation since the Eisenhower era.' Don't get too excited though, they are still predominantly left, its just that prior generations were even more liberal as young adults.

I really feel like Millennials should be split into two generations like the boomers were. There’s a big cultural difference between millennials born in the 80’s and those born later.

The first group remembers the world before the internet, for one thing, and were at or near draft age during 9-11 and the Iraq War. The 90’s millennials are a lot more interested in Japanese culture as well, in my experience.

I’d make a hidden generation from 1978 to 1988; we could call it the Oregon Trail generation or the Simpsons generation.

The issue is both are very similar groups that normally overlap with each other especially due to the discussion of "who is Gen-Z," is a frequent topic as years 1996-1998 are contested between the two.

They are both very similar, both generations born in the 90's all share similar if not the same viewpoints as both grew up during columbine and other major events that shaped social consciousness as a whole.

Both tend to lean very liberally as unfortunately the recession, trickle down economics, and inflation have pretty much fucked both groups that they both will be the renter generation as neither can afford housing due to these issues.

Science has shown both generations are going against the grain too as them both growing older isn't making them more conservative like the other generations before them.

I have met individual zoomers IRL who were very based, but as a general rule, the "le based Zoomers" meme is conserva-copium.

You can be a responsible person at 21, but you're still not as grown up as someone who's middle aged. Two different things.

Science has shown both generations are going against the grain too as them both growing older isn't making them more conservative like the other generations before them.

How much of this is due to pressure? You know, the culture of fear and the constant barrage of thought reform that social media creates?

I was under the impression that politics between Gen Z and Millennials were not that different except for just social media usage. Most Gen Z kids will use TikTok to justify their astroturfed political “opinions” while millennials will use Twitter to post long form statements with no real political ”opinions”.
