I know not all KF users live in the U.S. . I just realized something, the users advocating against notifications and stickers themselves in this thread have been throwing top hats and trash cans fairly often here. Here's an idea: The anti sticker people can show everyone else how gay and cringe stickers by not using them. It only makes sense right? If it's so fucking wrong and unnecessary then why not lead by example? Anyone will to demonstrate their beliefs in action?

I didn't use the stickers notifications for "dopamine hits". For me it was a way to feel if the people on the thread agreed with me or if they didn't and that's valuable feedback. 16 "winners/agree/like" means that the general consensus is that I am quite right in my opinion and 16 "dumb/autistic" means that maybe I didn't explain my views the right way or that the people on thread are hostile to my views and so on. It was a good way to understand the general opinion about lolcows or certain topics.
The second use for stickers notifications for me was to remind me about what I wrote. I have a stressfull work/life sometimes and my memory can't cope. Being reminded of old posts is useful because I usually can't remember them the day after.
I have to say that I miss them quite a lot now. I hope the great leader will reverse his decision.

NB : I was congratulated recently by Adolf Hitler himself, so my opinion should be taken into account.

NB2 : the social credit count was useless most of the time so it can stay gone for ever I never cared about it.

I uses to only post when it was informative, concise, and/or objectively funny. I know it's objective because I saw the sticker feedback.

Yeah, I have a low post number but a good chunk, maybe even 1/4, of my total posts are highlights. Now my posts feel low effort. I just post what pops into my head because, fuck it, I already have a "positive" reaction score anyways. Before I uses to put a lot of forethought into posts before I made them.

Null's argument was that "stickers incuraged people to post just for stickers, for a dopamine hit' ...so? So what if some people want to effort-post for stickers? The end result is that SOME users who would otherwise be retarded put effort into not being a tard and possibly creating a post that's impacts a thread positively.

As for the dopamine. So what? KF is my only social-media because I have a healthy offline life that rewards me with much better dopamine. Let people choose if they want notifications or not, in my opinion it added quality to the forum.

Replies, quotes, profile posts, and comments are message notifications that serve a practical function; they aren't a novelty function.

Stickers were nice to have but they have nothing compared to the examples you tried to you in respect to actual functionality.

A couple of weeks ago, Wu and Keffals had some headcase claiming they were gonna kill themselves because of them. I read the featured thread but didn't really look much further into it.

If I were generous I would assume the troon didn't off themselves, however I can't help but notice that generosity is never afforded to the farms. So as far as I'm concerned, Wu/Keffals killed a troon and Hbomberguy bashed a gay. Way worse than KF.
