Active users sure. Scumfuck new accounts who sign up just to post an advertisement for their super serious legitimate lolcow documentary paid puff piece, fuck off.

I don't mind it on topic as a relevant reply, but I wouldn't like them creating new topics for it.

Although I'd think any farmer with a single brain cell in their head would just pitch it as their friend's project, for obvious reasons.

So I guess I'd say that it should be discouraged but not forbidden.

I'd say let's give it a try. Heck maybe we can get some discussions on the stuff that is promoted to boot, perhaps even giving some ideas on the projects that are promoted. Of course spamming is an absolute no-go and should be treated as such. And give some extra shekels to Null of course

The sheer volume of retarded things said and discussed here makes me wonder why this is a big question. It's not like anyone who posted about something they've created has any power to suppress unfavorable discussion about their creation. I only really have a problem with self-promotion in situations where the platform itself is aiding in opinion/damage control.

As long as they're not spamming it.
Shit why not charge them for ad space on the front page?

Has to be a limit though, as long as its not constant faggot YouTubers or other retards spamming their bullshit shitting up the place, it's harmless. Could be good for the site.

As long as its not Kinochet.
And if they make money you get a cut.

I think it would be a good thing. Helps with the image, gives us content, encourages effortposting and/or creativity, as well as opportunities for more artcows and careercows.

In a limited, sensible, and non-invasive fashion, of course

Wary of advertising in any way/shape/form. It has a corrupting effect and has proven difficult to contain. This proposal nudges the door open with promises of containment. Isn't the door better left shut?
Well, Kiwi Farms is not owned by some megacorp with complex hierarchy and a board of directors, it's just one autistic retard so if it becomes a problem the door can be shut any time.
My take on this is the same as everyone else, if the self promotion is done on the designated shitting street, by the actual author of the project, is not obnoxious, and not by burner 1-day-old accounts, then whatever.

Blatent advertising: Total Advertiser Death!

Self-Promotion: I'd say it could be allowed, but in a controlled manner. That means a clear delineation of sponsored content. It must be relevant to the discussion. It must be tasteful and not spammed everywhere. It must be something that people would actually give a fuck about. I'll add one more caveat in that it must be advertised by the creator or co-creator of said sponsored whatever.

Just my thoughts. Also, what if you need to be T&H to self-promote and have a decent history of contributing to conversations so retards don't flood in and promote bullshit, with an exception to this rule being rare and subject to the discretion of the mods.

I'm for it if the product is relevant in some way to a thread but individual cases may need to be blocked. For example, if Nick Rekieta joins his thread and has a manual signature consisting of a balldo affiliate link and an uncensored video demonstration.

What person is stupid enough to post something that's associated with their real name here? We have an entire thread for halaling people who don't change up usernames and this is far worse. It should be permitted but only idiots would willingly walk into the lions den.

To add to the $100 "true and honest nigger" tier, give these users a Bazaar to post in, and a banner on their personal profiles, and keep it away from the rest of the site. Like buying a table at a craft fair.

Some people just don't care about using their real name here. Mainly old people like Christian Morris

Welcome to the Kiwiseum.

It should be allowed, but just a reminder, literally last week a retarded Chris ween got full doxxed for holding up a sign at a WWE event, so why would you ever shill yourself here?

tolerate it as long as they're not annoying about it. Its better to get some legitimization and help people we like. If it get out of hand you can always shut it down later. ez.

The product is likely to get cancelled and shrieked about anyways. Associating with a "bad" place may provide a free stress test.
