Ah yes, I remember the days when I shit all over the place asking people to check out my shitty streams/music/writings etc.

I was ahead of the curve, you see.

Voted yes, because as long as one knows what potential problems they may face having advertisted here and as long as they aren't shitting up unrelated threads with spam, I can't really see much of a long term problem.

I also second what someone said early in the thread about pink triangles losing their privileges to do so.

I think this is a good idea, but it should only be for content that would be deleted anywhere else. There is no way to concretely define whether the self promo is "organic" or not so the rules would have to be pretty strict, any other way would probably result in a nightmare for moderation, as people who don't give a shit about this website suddenly flock to the threads to tell everyone about their YouTube channel.
The license itself legally requires you to host the word "nigger" on your webzone.
What chud said.

it will alert us to more cows.

that's the good part of it. people will spam in their garbage, that's the bad part. but if it's not relevant to the thread it can just get deleted.
anyone who posts personal info, including business info, on here, is asking for problems in general. whether from us or from the general public.

why stop a cow from offering milk?

I don’t know because associating your irl life with KF is a spell for destruction, but if they still separate the two and contribute positively towards the site then i dont see why not
Joining just to shill should be banned but active users sharing what they do (which sort of happens anyways) is fine ig
I see this website as any other forum or anon website, like twitter or 4 chan. I am not ashamed to admit i use it

I think allow it with some rules:

That person should have to verify they are who they claim to be so they can't come in and advertise someone else's shit to make it look bad by association, could be a case by case thing if gayops are suspected

Should be relevant to where they're posting it, maybe have a containment thread if people want to advertise stuff not linked to another thread

No unapproved gofundmes or similar

No advertising OnlyFans or similar

No promoting MLMs, pyramid schemes or gamba

If someone is retarded enough to willingly advertise here by all means as long as it's not spam or shitting up a thread.

Someone advertised their own comicbook Kickstarter on the forum and this has literally never happened before. It has never been wise to ever admit to posting on the forum or associating it with your projects, so I've never had to think about it before
Maybe the first kickstarter, but not the first self promotion.
The thread where the dev of a game where you get to kill IDF fighters ended up posting and being welcomed by (most) of the community was definitely earlier.
I think you streamed yourself playing it too.

If the promoted work is of genuine quality and its creators are willing to associate with the farms openly, then it betters the farm's public perception and helps people interested in parallelism actually connect with one another. If the promoted work is trash, then while it might be annoying to clean up in the short term there's also the potential for more threads on cows to be made - remember Linkara promoted the Lightbringer wherever he went for years. Either way I think it will help grow the farms, the main challenge will just be sufficient self-policing.

At first I said no, but maybe if the mods can all agree on some kind of protocol for it. I'd hate to see this place become like twitter/bluesky/fedi etc. where every nigger and their baby mama is hawking a substack or a podcast.

I vote yes.

Best case scenario, we get entertainment that is created by and for a different audience than mainstream slop.

Worst case, we all get to laugh at something cringe.

It's a win-win in my book.

Why not have a subforum dedicated for 'user created content'? There are already threads like that strewn about the farms (like the "farmers redraw hideous tumblr art" thread, might as well condense it.)

I think the answer is mostly no, barring some special cases which are up to the mods and Null.

It just doesn't seem something for this site in my opinion. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just that there are other places for that. I prefer letting everything have its place.

My only concern would be for the legitimate people who offer good things being connected to Kiwi Farms. But so long as they realize the risk (and sign disclaimers promising not to sue Null for advertising on the funny bird website), go for it.

If someone has the balls to advertise on kiwifarms why not
My reason for voting "Yes", given that it's done in a way relevant to discussion like in Null's example. I'm okay with the site not always being seen as the internet boogeyman that killed a million troons and their mothers and i think someone advertising a good and successful product could help see people that this site is pretty much like any other forum, albeit one with a unique culture and sensible/sane moderation.

As someone who makes his own comic book, I can tell you first hand that people who advertise their comics are never a benefit to any community. They never engage, they never even talk about other people’s work. They’re just trying to find an edge because of how difficult it is to get someone to actually look at and read your comic.

So, no. I don’t think it should be allowed. Not just because advertising it here is a bad idea, but because we don’t need the entire site turning into the shill farms
