I made a couple of tabletop wargames then that phase ended so I'm sat on some games I always wanted to share or promote somewhere, ttrpg forums are literally full of tranny lunatics it's insufferable
 
People already "advertise" their selfmade games and game mods and space autism simulator servers. The only difference is money is involved.

I say allow it on condition that it's understood the Farms does not formally endorse any project that gets posted and retards who buy/fund it should not expect sympathy if they get scammed.

If something succeeds we get to gloat about being a bigger center of creativity than ESG funded dangerhairs.
If something crashes and burns we get yet more dumbfucks to sacrifice to the corn.

ETA: And to be fair we've already had lolcows in the ComicsGate thread promoting their shitty comics for years now.
 
One thing I admire about KF is how well managed topics are and how threads are actually fucking on-topic. I really don't want to see pet projects when 99% of them are shit anyways, on top of detracting from discussions. It seems like most are approving this, so I really hope these posts get corraled into their own corner.
 
I voted a tentative no on the poll since I could easily see this opening being abused with people arguing and overstepping bounds on where these self-promo ads would actually be tolerated, which would just make more work for the already overworked staff here.

Probably best not to invite this sort of trouble on here.
 
I can't wait to promote my OnlyFans on KiwiFarms so everyone can send screenshots of all the times I've said "nigger" to my day job bosses.

On a real note, it needs a containment thread.
 
My gut feeling is no because of how annoying it is, and I just think of every fucking time some tweet goes viral and how annoying it is for the person to say "Haha, this blew up! Here is this thing I do that you absolutely do not care about!" but really giving it more consideration it could be a very good thing overall, just one with the potential to get extremely tiresome without both self and site moderation. As long as it's clear that you're not just gonna hijack a thread to go salesman and measures are taken to prevent that, I think it should be allowed.
 
I think if it's on topic, and somewhat creative then I say go for it. It's up to the posters on the thread to decide whether it's worthy of praise.

Although some people could post garbage like this. (Which can be funny in and of itself)

Maybe create a new supporter tier for this sole purpose that costs $100, but instead of "true and honest fan" it's "true and honest nigger", or something along those lines so the forum can at least gatekeep and profit.
 
I like the idea of a containment thread for self-promotion while continuing to moderate it on the rest of the forum. It seems nice to be able to redirect people to other parts of the site instead of telling them no.
