Ahh, no I meant that illiteracy was often a sign of poor education, not that dyslexia comes from poor education. I do disagree on the poor reading bit though, totally anecdotal but I have dyslexia myself and because of it I do struggle with reading.

Today I learned about "nonviolent communication". For those not in the know, it's a form of critique that revolves around your personal feelings and not about attacking others. There is admittedly not much research done into it's effectiveness, but at it's worst it would be like a multivitamin and do nothing bad. As such, Kylie and his friends fucking hate this approach because it relies on communication and compromise and not shrieking and feet stamping. Here's an actual description from a blog whining about it:

It always amazes me that they claim someone who is white shows interest in another non-white culture it is appropriating, but if they do it to a white culture it is not the same thing.
The bit that gets me the spiciest is how a person believes that the undesirable parts of history need to be suppressed... Except not always, but only when it involves white people...?
If you go to a plantation nowadays, a southern bell and a white-suited tobacco-chewing owner don't approach you and say, "Howdy, folks! Come to see where we keep the niggers?" I can't think of sites that are more respectful of the history of slavery than plantations.
I'm guessing that this person (and Kylie) has never really been on one of these plantations, and instead choose to angrily shake their fist from comfortable shouting distance.
I'm also willing to bet that if there were no plantation/museums around now, they'd complain about how the plight of the slave isn't accessible or properly represented.

I live in the rural south in some of the most conservative parts of the nation and we have lots of plantation museums all of which go into great detail about the horrors of slavery. Many have also with in the last 20 years rebuilt the original quarters detailing the crowded dirty conditions of the living arrangements of the slaves, but like everything else Kyle has no idea what he is jabbering about.

So, tact and assertiveness is lost on Zayn and co.? Plus, she's kind of doing it wrong if she wants to come off as non-combative. Using "you" and "your" in that context is still being used in an accusatory manner. (And no one talks that was irl)

But (or so I've been taught) it's better to put the "I feel" first, and then the emotion and then the subject. You're also not supposed to use terms like should and ought, because those are words that involk demands, pressure and set-ups for future disappointment.

There are many dumb racist "happy negroes sang and played all day" type plantation museums in my area but what I REALLY want to say is that I love how much all the flailers hate Trump.
