Assuming I found the right story, this guy was a fundamentalist cult leader in an isolated community so he's more inline with the Quiverfull community than the Reddit Polyamory community.
Presumably the government didn't issue him 24 marriage licenses, so his marriages must have been some kind of faggy off-the-books religious ceremony (which he probably presided over himself). Ironically if he'd just skipped that step the whole thing would probably have been perfectly legal.

As always, this means agreeing on clear boundaries. Like which domains you engage in together (for example: "we don't talk about issues with our families or other partners" or "we don't text about our days"), as well as drawing lines that help limit a rebound into old habits (for example: "we don't see each other more than once every X weeks/months" or "we don't spend the night together"). It comes with risk of course. I would never recommend a rebound without first having a cooldown period. And it's important to reflect on any harm you may have experienced with the relationship to be sure you aren't putting yourself in harm's way again (therapists and close friends are good allies here

I think it's the 2nd. We are here, right now, because a vast majority of people have rejected poly. When i say the vast majority of people, i mean HUMANITY as a whole. Does anyone have recs of someone being abused as a kid because of polyamory? It's more common for former child victims of cults to speak out about the sexual abuse they got from polygamous cult leaders, or from "free love" type cult members (ex: the Family, Rael), but I've never heard of someone coming out with a SA story from a reddit-style polycule. If such crimes are common (and I'm sure they are), victim stories should be heard.

Creepy age gaps are pretty common in polycules. There's a lot of polycules where it's an older couple that preys on a freshly-18 year old girl (or sometimes not even 18, but 16 or 17). Probably some rape and grooming involved in those cases. Onision notoriously did this, bringing a teenage girl named Sarah who was escaping her family home as a "third" to him and his wife.

Re the creepy age gaps it goes the other way round too. Men my age? Not fucking interested in me at all. Of course not because I’m at that age where everyone single is looking for a much younger woman. Men under half my age (to the point of some of them literally being barely legal) who identity as pansexual poly genderfluid degens? It is my experience that polys really don’t give a fuck about age gaps because they can always make up for what they see as your lack of qualities by fucking someone else. Or they are collecting different types of people just to brag about experiences bedpost notching style. A older person here, a furry there, some faggot into the most degenerate kinks elsewhere. Plus if you’re older they probably think you’re desperate and might give them money or be their “nesting partner” (provide free board) no doubt. I fucking hate these people.
