Poor autistic kid gets humiliated on TV....

Feel bad for the kid. Seriously, are they that stupid?

Kathy Lee reminds me of a teacher in movies like Dangerous Minds. A white woman (probably leans to the left) who ALWAYS tries to do good for the least fortunate, thinking she is doing God's work, while not realizing how embarrassing it can be for them.

She might have had some good intentions, but could not be more clueless.

What I know about "Kathie Lee" tells me this was a flat out "LOOK AT ME" deal.

The kid's mom was also an idiot for dragging her obviously socially stunted son onto TV.

It's not hard to forgive Kathy, as reprehensible as she is. She's seriously stupid and actually just does not know what she's doing. She actually did this shit out of good intentions.

I know she meant well, that much is obvious, but it doesn't make her ignorance any less grating. This is a grown woman we're talking about who embarrassed an autistic kid because she didn't know how to handle the situation properly. I, for one, would not let her get off with a slap on the wrist just because she's a fucking idiot.

She did at least apologize afterwards, right? Please tell me she did.

Yeah, I'd be depressed too if I was that kid. No questions asked. That, and I'd likely have a grudge against my humiliators for quite some time.

Popular kid in school befriends a lonely autistic boy. Kathy Lee brings them on her show so they can show how much of a hero the popular kid is for befriending the lonely autistic kid. Kathy Lee wrote a song, which a singer performs, telling the kid how he is a lonely, desperate, soulless spacker, but fortunate that popular kid came along. Autistic boy cries, and quite understandably points out that the song is sad. Kathy Lee marvels at her own goodness.

And that makes Kathy a dick. Though from what I've seen of her in the past, her default setting is this- smug underneath a fake smile.

I wouldn't call her a lolcow yet (unless she did something really fucking dumb outside of this). But she's an idiot, no questions asked.
