DEFCON has been lowered to 4 over reports of military amassing air forces and the potential risks of a Russia vs. U.S. conflict.

Supposedly the British RAF is on alert in Cyprus.

There's also unconfirmed reports of the U.S. moving missile cruisers around in the Mediterranean and aircraft in Eastern Iraq.

Drudge is yellow journalism and fear mongering. Every couple of months/years that I can remember in my adult life has been Matt Drudge being scared of the end of the world. He is always afraid and wants other people to be as well.

If you think this is going to end in a world ending nuclear showdown you are objectively r.etarded
People said the same shit about North korea
At the same time though, Assad or Putin will have to pick up where Kim left off now that he's considering denuclearization.

Well niggers its been fun, but all good things must come to an end. Before I sign off a final time I would just like to tell each and every one of you from my heart that i fucking despise you and hope you die slowly, screaming, weeping, burning, and bubbling in a pool of your own piss shit and puke. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a mushroom cloud to walk into. Have a happy holocaust.

sadly we are not lucky enough for the world to die screaming just yet. so dont buy into the hype

I see your point, you think it's counter-intuitive for Assad to do this when he was in the final stretch, but you forget one thing: How is Assad supposed to rule over the people he was in very open warfare with for about almost a decade now? The only way to do it is to put the fear of God into them, and there's nothing better here than the looming threat of Chemical warfare for any further attempts of rebellion, you may say that this is an insane thought, and I would agree, but I would remind you that there's nothing sane about the Assads, those are the people who decided that razing the country was a good idea in the 1st place.

Also, another thing I need to highlight is that all the other Arab nations supporting this airstrike? If any revolution happens in their country, they will do exactly the same, Assad has sadly shown that this course of action is extremely effective vs simply ceding your throne and escaping with your billions.

But the threat of chemical weapons is what started this whole mess . . .

Global warming? Just create a layer of nuclear cloud to block out the sun. The earth will cool down again.

Tbh on a totally selfish level I would kinda like this. My area isn't a nuclear target, and I really hate hot weather, so a nice nuclear hellstorm that makes the outside feel the same as my comfy basement for the remaining duration of my life would be pretty nice.

This is an interesting development. I hope it doesn't turn into actual world conflict.

Also what's the name of the artist in the video featured on the main page?

Hey remember that time we were all gonna get nuked last year, or even earlier this year, or in the 80's or 70's, etc. It just fear mongering at this point, I mean shit get bad for syria and ya know just all over the world but come on; no one getting nuked.
Even if it is fear mongering, Putin's not the kind of guy who'd take it lightly.

Though that brings up the question as to, if push comes to shove, whether he'll bomb the UK, Israel and France after he deals with the US. They are the ones effectively pushing for this after all.
