Europe's air traffic control network has warned commercial aircraft to avoid Syrian airspace due to a possible strike being planned in the next 72 hours.

DEFCON has been lowered to 4 over reports of military amassing air forces and the potential risks of a Russia vs. U.S. conflict.

Supposedly the British RAF is on alert in Cyprus.

There's also unconfirmed reports of the U.S. moving missile cruisers around in the Mediterranean and aircraft in Eastern Iraq.

The (((powers that be))) really want to see Assad bloodily dragged through the streets with a stick jammed up his anus

Right. If leaders like Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi were quickly removed from power then captured and later killed, then why can't the same thing happen to Bashar al-Assad? However, the West and their allies need to remember Syria has many allies like Iran, Russia and China will do whatever in their power to keep al-Assad both in power and destroy all of his rivals and terrorists.

The 1st article says British and French, which means that like three missiles will be fired and then they'll run out.

Just like with Libya.
A prolonged air campaign against Assad's government would require even more munitions than Libya, since Syria has a much more robust and modern air defense network, with recent upgrades and reinforcement from Russia. This is probably just going to be a punitive attack for making a political statement

SYRIA IS NOT THE WEST'S PROBLEM
SYRIA IS NOT THE WEST'S PROBLEM
SYRIA IS NOT THE WEST'S PROBLEM
SYRIA IS NOT THE WEST'S PROBLEM
SYRIA IS NOT THE WEST'S PROBLEM

"Reeeeeeing" aside. It's interesting that only Britain and France are going in first. I'm guessing the U.S. is only going to provide support to not fully be involved. Either way this shit is getting bad real fast. :(

Assad has quite a powerbase considering that the alternatives are crazy Islamists.

So what's the point of this? If I'm reading this right: There was some chemical bomb attack on Syria, then British wants to bomb Syria? What? I'm so confused.

And even more confused how all this would lead to World War Three.
Because Syria is an ally of Russia and Iran. If they get attacked and Russian soldiers get killed then the whole world goes up in nuclear smoke. This is because of an alleged chemical attack by either Assad or ISIS.

I'm hoping you've all dumped good money into Raytheon stocks, cause we could see loads of missile sales if this goes down does without a hitch.

I'm guessing we still haven't learned from the last five times what happens when we remove a secular - if homicidal - leader in that general area.

15 years later, Iraq is kinda ok. The shiites at least seem to be happier with this arrangement and they haven't had a military coup yet.
