DEFCON has been lowered to 4 over reports of military amassing air forces and the potential risks of a Russia vs. U.S. conflict.

Supposedly the British RAF is on alert in Cyprus.

There's also unconfirmed reports of the U.S. moving missile cruisers around in the Mediterranean and aircraft in Eastern Iraq.

lol, remember when the alt-right thought Hillary was going to start this kind shit with Russia?

Well, she said outright that she would attack Iran at the earliest opportunity if she got in. That would most likely have kicked things off toward a WW3.

I guess we were fucked either way. I didn't think Trump would be swayed with this relentless, mostly baseless anti-Russia narrative, and now, via a clearly false claim that Assad carried out this attack.

I think enough lolcows have access to some form of wireless internet, and live under sufficient layers of concrete or earth, that this can only be a good thing for entertainment. I hope they gave Trump an actual button to press tho.

Firstly, why would Assad randomly gas his own citizens in a civil war he's objectively winning? Even the fucking Nazi's only began gassing citizens in their conquered lands once the tide of the war turned against them, and did so in a systematic way within concentration camps, they didn't just gas cities with reckless abandon.

Secondly, why do we need to continue sabre rattling with Russia? Russia is already suffering economically because of Western sanctions as is; do they want Putin specifically out of power in Russia, even though Putin's successor would need to be even more of a strongman to fill the void that Putin would be leaving?

And thirdly and most importantly of all, even from the most selfish perspective of the western leaders, why do they think this is a good long-term strategy? Do they think the populace of their nations aren't going to rise up against this, or that this won't eventually lead to some full-scale conflict with Russia where millions of people on both sides die, which will end up crippling every nation involved? What is the end-game from doing this, and more importantly, have they even thought out what could possibly go wrong?

This whole thing is exceptional beyond belief.

Welp. I guess I picked a good time to be going home from Hungary.

It was nice knowing all of you.

But seriously, I doubt this is the start of WW3. If it continues the way this shit has in the past, there'll just be skirmishes here and there before everyone fucking forgets why this started in the first place and just go back to waving their dicks in the media and doing nothing.

It'll be proxy wars, or at worst fighting in smaller allied nations. After World War II, the world powers are too smart to escalate to warfare in their own borders... so far.

I try and stay away from /pol/ tier shit as much as possible, but theres literally no way this isn't jewish trickery. Israel is literally the only country standing to gain from this, by slipping a few sneaky McNukes into Palestine in the case of actual war, or not having the UN spotlight in the case of minor skirmishes.

Israel is a suspect, but I lean more towards the CIA or maybe the Saudis, the former based on their past behaviour in toppling regimes, and Trump's behaviour in the past few days, the latter to distract from Yemen and continue to allow them to import Wahhabism into the West because "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Oh my bad. I thought Trump would just beat off and calm down or something.

This cant be real. This is really dumb.

I kind of wonder if this is because more shit is coming out about his ties with Russia and he's trying to distract or something? I wonder if he wrote that shit about how he's gonna beat up Putin's dad for being friends with a bad man, and then someone told him "Dude youre the fucking president, you cant shitpost on twitter, he's gonna take you seriously." "Oh, fuck. He didnt say no taksie-backsies did he? You can do that right? Stop the arms race? My b!"

If he wanted a distraction, he could have easily tweeted about Zuckerberg instead. Today was the perfect time. Maybe he didn't think of that.
