credit for the basis of this idea goes to styxHexenHamster1350. Sorry if this is also in the wrong place.
If there is somehow no hope of the site being hosted on the clearnet then this could be some sort of a workaround. We can host the site on TOR where the troons cant touch the hosting its self, and then set up a reverse proxy that can connect to it and display it on the clearnet. Software for doing that exists and it would be basically impossible to permanently knock one offline provided we never lose access to the kiwifarms.net domain name, no data would be lost and the software its self would be small enough to move to another provider within an hour or two rather than days. It also means that, should the main domain go down, anyone who wants to support the farms can also set up a reverse proxy so there is always a clearnet way to access it.
Pros:
-Troonery cannot take down the main site
-If we get dropped, its very fast to move somewhere else
-The community has a chance to help out with hosting efforts
-Kiwimesh has proven to work, if we have a pool of many reverse proxies to the TOR service then it would probably never go down
-We can remain on the clearnet indefinitely using this method
Cons:
-Tor is slow as fuck, the site would need to be optimized for it
-Even being optimized, it would still be slower than normal clearnet hosting
-Would need some pretty extensive custom software for the custom reverse proxy
-We're back to potentially dealing with small providers that could cuck out without any backlash or care
-Potential security issues if someone makes a malicious reverse proxy (only a threat if we use community ones)
-The reverse proxies would probably be pretty vulnerable to ddosing
I've only got limited networking experience, thoughts on this?
