These are my lads.

Smooth haired Fox Terriers.

As a breed they first started appearing in the late 1700s. There is a portrait of one, named "Pitch".

By the 1850s they were well known and the first recognized examples of the breed known today were documented. "Old Jock" was probably the best known.

They were incredibly popular in their time but are now, unfortunately, considered an endangered breed.

They are incredibly strong for their size, very lively and have a high prey drive. Foxes, badgers, rabbits ~ anything that would seek an underground place to lay up would set them going. Their build was perfect for getting underground and bringing the prey up. They are friendly fellows, fearless, athletic and wonderful friends.

I love them to bits.

I hope they are able to make a come back! They look like great dogs

I was tempted to post a picture of chinese butchering dogs, but considering the shit with woof recently and how just utterly fucked it was, meh fuck it.

Here's a random gif of a corgi instead.

My ex adopted a dog last year that ended up being pregnant and we decided to help her have the babies because why not. They all stayed at my house. They were heathy, sweet, friendly, they got all their shots, and they all got adopted by nice families with children. I loved each one so much and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Still, I’m not going to do it again unless I have a farm and a spare heated garage.

Hachiko.JPG

Hachikō the famous Akita dog that would meet his owner every day at the station he'd commute to. Even though his owner died at work Hachikō would continue to wait at the station every day until he died in 1935 at 11 years old.
He was buried in a cemetery next to his owner and there are statues that were made to honor his legacy.

I absolutely adore pomeranians. When they're well trained and behave well they can be the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet.

They also look pretty damn funny while wet!
