I am so fascinated by the imperfections that show up in these photos. Of course, the fact itself that a neural network can generate a convincing human face most of the time is mind-blowing on its own, but there's definitely something unsettlingly compelling in pondering what leads it to mess up. Say, a strand of hair being sheared in half, or a gold chain not showing on both sides of the neck, or glasses half-faded out of existence, or especially the terrifying amalgams of vaguely-human facial features at the edges of the image.
