Recently I started on a new project of a portrait for my sis' kids. She wanted it big, but didn't tell me what medium she wanted it in. I decided to try my hand on painting it on a canvas. So far, I sketched out where the kids would be and laid down some solid colors of the sweaters they're wearing (which will be the tricky part to detail). So far I'm doing it in acrylic, but thinking of adding oil over acrylic if I get there (which would also lengthen the time to complete this as well).

Your work is tremendous! Don't take this the wrong way, but it reminds me of an alt-universe Dobson, where he has 10 times the talent and drive to create.

This was going to be a Wedding Gift, now it's going to be a gift to my sister so she can open up an important heartfelt letter. The Tiger and the Foxes are heavily manipulated stock pics photo I overpainted, she wont know however :^)

A bit of an update on the painting for my sis.

I'm doing this on a 25" x 25" canvas. At present I'm been detailing the clothes but so far the heads are this odd color as I couldn't mix a good flesh tone with what I have, I'll have to get back to that later.

I'm a big fan of Dead Cells, but I also suck at it. Drew this after a particularly frustrating death .

For now, I tried to get the face color down, but then I took a fan brush and did this expressionistic take for the background with several shades of green.

The perspective was getting me a bit confused until I realized that it was her other arm going back behind her back on the right, there. Can’t tell if this is because of the perspective or if it’s because it’s just lines at this point. Sometimes just lines can make things look a bit jumbled, which is an issue I find in the few pieces of manga, doujins, and underground/indie comics out there.

I think the issue is that the left arm is a bit off and the legs aren't indicative of a "powerstance" Definitely something I need to work on before final lines are down.

I’m a fan of watercolors, but they’re very unforgiving on mistakes. Keep that in mind.

Also, shit, that’s traditional?
