"Post your Art" Thread

Here's another quick digital painting I made.

So I'm at a bit of an impasse, kindof.

Digital is the cheaper route thusfar, but I never really played around with just using graphite and some blending sticks. I like how it looks here.
Are there blending brushes somewhere that do a better job of emulating the real-deal? I'm already fairly disappointed in how most graphite brushes imitate pressure with a pencil, though I imagine I could really dig under the hood to fine-tune the brush behavior more. The blending brushes also seem like they have very different applications meant more for color than this effect.

Is it worth trying to get a digital emulation of pencil & paper, or am I going to have better luck just buying the physical supplies and scanning the shit for touch-up later on? I've got Clip, fwiw with the digital shit.

Not sure about brushes, but I know Clip Studio does have some assets you can play with, if you're interested. A lot of them are free, but there are some you need to pay for. I haven't really tried them, so I can't really give a recommendation; you'll have to try them yourself.

so... holy crap i actually did a still render for the first time in ages.

Really happy with how it came out, Should do action scenes more often, it encourages dynamic posing like this. My art tends to get a stiffness problem when not in some form of ideal motion... this fixes that entirely by forcing me to show interaction.

Rather than going with a physical shield, maybe go with an energy one.
nice idea, though I was planning on having the shield function as a multi-purpose item, like a mix of a shield, a drone and a missile pod.
the shield might need a rework anyway, I'm not 100% behind the design of it, same goes for the scissor gun

EDIT: revisited the scissor cannon, showcased the basic engineering in the top corner. Shield's still up in the air, I might just go for the energy shield after all

After some ostensible and lengthy sketching in a sketchpad to got the shape and outfit down for this little muppet, I've then done a final render sketch in Sai paint tool.

Dragon boi. His outfit is based on a mix of outlaw and pirate, thus the buccaneer sleeves, It's probably obvious but he's fairly young.

This however, is not all I did today, speaking of that earlier sketch pad I did some edgy emotional art of Angwy catmum.

About to pass the breaking point... or possibly has already. Along the top row is Esperia, Pep and Nola (Her previous nemesis and her kid and her adopted daughter in that order.) and below and to the left is Xali, her new nemesis.

The note of unhealthy words beside her in full reads:
-------------------------
TRAUMA
HEARTBREAK
OUTRAGE
HELPLESSNESS
ANXIETY
I've had
enough
-------------------------

The entirely legible lines will likely be fairly recognizable to those who watched the first video i posted which regards this scene, the symbols below aren't actually any sort of attempt at scrawling Japanese, Svoli is russian for starts so that'd be dumb. I also don't know japanese characters at all. It's Maiden's code, an exclusively woman's language that was stolen from Heldathian by Tiramisa and turned into a code for women to speak freely among themselves with, which sounded like whispered song in most cases. The Maiden's code was often used during the Great War (2040 through to 2070) and was taught by the Maidens of Virtue who helped grieving, widowed and disadvantaged families and particularly single mothers with day-to-day coping. Tiramisa was the founder of these maidens but none others have yet been named. Svoli was born in the last twelve grisly years of the war so she became fluent in it very fast and has used it on occasion in games she has a role in, as if to give a momento of thanks or perhaps a prayer to the Maidens who taught her. it seems to be the only thing she looks back to fondly from the war.

Sorry I'm rambling now, lmao. Autism is truly a helpless vexation.

If any of you were wondering about the animation, i finished it ages ago, but i'll wait until I have it's proper music and the correct VA to post it in its entirety. At current due to the upload limit I'm not sure how i will do that. I'm not sure even in this very mild part of KiwiFarms I'm game to post a link from my youtube channel.

It'll probably be fine I don't really do much beyond insult Jamie Oliver and make games that have very limited visibility in the public eye. If you guys really wanted to find me you could anyway, but I'll concern myself with such a curveball when it comes closer to the absolute finish of the animation. A webm might work if i can find the way to hecka compress them.
