"Post your Art" Thread

While I'm here though, and if you all wanna see some more naked people:

Day 42 (messed up his face too often to keep on working on it 😔)

Day 43 (didn't get the angle right)

Day 44 (today)
Edit: Also if anyone of you knows some good websites for nude, male models that offers a lot of full body shots, it'd be appreciated. There are tons for women, but men often seem to get reduced to their crotch region :p
Those are pretty damn nice, liking specially the guy chilling in the chair. These remind me i need to work a lot more on body features and anatomy, but i'm still struggling with proper face perspective and i'm trying to explore different facial expressions and features like beards, scars and mutton chops. I need to do so much, but i must not get over my head thinking i can do all. Still your work is amazing even if i prefer simplified features. But overall, i have to say it's a stellar job.

The stuff i did this week is not the best, but i was pretty satisfied with it.

Thanks a bunch Monster Mama, I couldn't figure out a way to make light on the far sleeve work so i just opted for the easy way out, I'm glad despite the few flaws you like it though! Thankfully i don't have to animate that character until much, much later.

Speaking of characters, though...

Lumi Fuzz is done and therefore the set of three sisters is done, now I can make that wallpaper I intended to from early on just after I'd finished Koko's.

Thank you :>

I get the thought, trying to do it all at once. Especially when you look at your stuff and see all the areas you suck at, it can be pretty depressing. Though, I personally found, if you just do a little every day and study stuff, at some point you'll probably just get better overall and have an easier time with your former problem areas. The important thing is to never make yourself comfortable. Always pick something to draw that scares you a lil. Like the feet of the blue guy, that was my motivation for choosing him ^^

Also, don't mean to be rude, but what's with the round line you do on your eyes, going the direction of the noses? Is it something that's supposed to hint at them being a different species, like the pointed ears? It makes them all look a tiny bit angry. I mean, if it is a muscle thing or something humans don't have it's an interesting idea, but otherwise it might mess with your efforts to portray emotions. Other than that small bit though, it looks like you're well on your way. The rest of them are easily readable and fun to look at. I like the dazed elf there in the picture with the sword ^^

Of course. Don't worry too much about small flaws, they're there to learn from them ^^

Good luck with animating them later. So far they seem like an interesting trio. Also explains now why they all have animals on their shirts when they're supposed to be sisters. The perspective on the hand in the foreground is well done. That's nothing easy to pull off right

I get that too well. Constantly seen people around you that are much better is a real hit to motivation. That's why i've taken a good effort to isolate myself and focus on what's important. Keeping good spirits is hard and every day is a struggle. But it's a struggle worth taking up.

On the round line on the eyes, i keep this habit of making the start of the eye on the tear duct. It's probably a habit i have taken from my earliest tutorials on eyes and, like you say, it gets on the way when i try to portray emotion like anger or sadness. But it's a good way of having a point of reference to start making the eyes, even if i'm thinking at times about getting rid of it. I might give it a try in the same way i keep struggling making nice lips.

I also need a good way of making comical expressions. Probably need more tutorials and references. Specially the latter because i've ditched references as of late and begun to do things directly from imagination. I also need to practise with my color pencils and a lot more things. But i better do one thing at a time or i will just get burned out.

The more I study the more I feel like turning into an imperfect copy machine rather than an artist. On the other hand, it did start out like this:

So maybe it is worth something in the end?
damn, nice progress

Commission. The client was amazingly patient. This took 80+ hours over 4 months, struggled a lot, overcame a lot. Really happy with it.

personal work between commissions, major improvement right off the heels of the previous work.

Commission. Client gave me creative freedom.

Another commission. also a lot of detail.
Reminds me of illustrations from "The Eleventh Hour" by Graeme Base. Loved that book as a kid.

Don't worry.

By the time you get to painting classes the teachers will care very little about proportions and realism, and more about coloring and expression.

So hang in there buddy.
