This is the best I've done in a while, I feel kind of guilty for being a lazy ass.

Masking fluid only takes a few minutes to dry, maybe half an hour tops... overnight is just a waste of time. also what paper are you using? I've had issues with tearing on cheap stuff but never with quality papers like arches or fabriano.View attachment 2384312Definitely looks better in person as the shimmery highlights in the washed out areas are more apparent.
Also started a Clef Fam piece that got absolutely fucked because masking fluid is a damn cocksucker. It pulled 80% of the line work up off of the watercolor paper, even after being allowed to dry over night to avoid this shit in the first place. It also tore sections of the previously painted background, so needless to say I'm furious about it.
interesting, reminds me of graphical glitchesbeen a few years since ive posted here. here is some blender fuckery stemming from my previously mentioned experiments with datamoshing .svg files. it actually is derived from this file, but is much more heavily modified.
glad to hear. i was very interested in glitch art years ago, and its been dear to my heart for a while, though this is much more programatic than glitch. if youre curious, id argure its much more similar to the new aesthetic than glitch art, but very much influenced by glitch art in the sense that it is media that has been corrupted rather than media emulates corruption. i used python to fuck with an .svg file and then took it into blender to render, if thats any clue as to how its made.interesting, reminds me of graphical glitches
honestly never thought that intentionally corrupting a file could yield such results. Yeeeah, I learned my lesson.PMasking fluid only takes a few minutes to dry, maybe half an hour tops... overnight is just a waste of time. also what paper are you using? I've had issues with tearing on cheap stuff but never with quality papers like arches or fabriano.
I used to balk at the price of arches, but when I realized a 9x12 pad is only like $17 on amazon, I started using it exclusively and never looked back. Works out to something like $1.50 per sheet, which sounds expensive for a letter sized piece of paper... but at the same time, $1.50 is literal pocket change and the difference in quality makes watercolor feel like an entirely different medium.Yeeeah, I learned my lesson.
Cheap stuff most likely was the culprit. Mostly had it because the relatively compact size of the paper was great for small but detailed projects. It was also the last piece of that paper, so less chance of a repeat.
My lazy ass is just trimming down the good paper from now on.
