A sketch I completed today in Procreate:

I use krita, works pretty much the same as the desktop version, it even saves in the same format, so you can just drop them on the pc to finish them
I've just started (clearly) so doubt my opinion means much but Krita is such a full experience for free software, I'd be using that still if I wasn't also gifted Clip Studio Pro. Highly recommend, still use Krita to colour stuff now and then while I get used to Clip.

So I dunno what's going on, i could barely draw more than one decent piece a month last year. now here it is not even halfway through January and I've done three.

The First Guardian

Yi Hellrider in her "Ark Stance". It's like a mix of scorpion and fighter stance. Sadly the immensity of the effects diminished the shadow which helped ground the perspective.

I was a derpaherp and did the character shadow on the same layer as the background color. Realized too little too late, sadly. I might fix it in the future- but for now, here's this!

Ok this is going to be the last update on Project Woleisn for a while as we go into the painting/putty phase, where I fill in any dings and paint this bastard. I'll probably post the original concept art soon and show how it evolved. But enough of this, let's get into the pictures and a in universe description at the end.

At the top you have the overview. I was running through batteries on my Milwaukee grinder in less than a hour with how much polishing I was doing. Tail has been straightened out since last time, with the weld cut with a diamond wheel, the top of the tail pushed down flat, and rewelded. As you can see the 37mm and dual 14.5mm guns rotate. The nose has been filled in and shaped, using parts of bolts to give it form then ground to shape.

Next we have the back and door mechanism. For the rear end, The side panels were welded onto the main wing, then bolts were inserted to fill in the back and to allow me to fill in weld the top and bottom, and attach ramps to the back. Bolts were cut for the engines, with two nuts per, tacked down, and nails attached to the front with weld applied to get a cone shape. The washers to the sides of the engines were tacked down and ground, representing vtol jets.
Finally the door mechanism. OH BOY. As you can see from the pictures they slide open, however, they flop to the sides a lot due to me using too thin a loop to go through the slots. Also I could have used less parts and thicker steel if I had integrated them into the main body panels. Lessons learned I guess.

Finally the flavor text: Serving in hundreds of nations for 10,000 years, the mighty Woleisn in all its variants, from simple civilian cargo haulers to full fledged gunships, and rarer variants such as heavy gunships and bombers, it has survived many replacement attempts over the centuries.

The typical Woleisn is armed with 1 37mm cannon and 2 14.5mm machine guns-though these can be exchanged for many other options- along with innumerable weapons mounted on various hard points across the Gunship, anything from dumb fire 90mm rocket pods to guided bombs to nuclear armed cruise missiles, with everything in between. Air to air missles can be carried and often are, with a few having been converted to "Flying SAM's" on occasion, carrying nothing but AAM missiles. The tail is equipped with rear radar, though on bomber variants, lasers are mounted for extra defense. Finally it's main armament: 56 men between the two bays, along with any vehicles carried below the engines.

Know whats better than doing one piece in a month? That's right, two! But what could be better than TWO artworks in a month. Whoa, no way? Three! But wait, what if... we did even more than THREE artworks in not just a month, but half of one.

WHAT!? THAT'S CRAZY!!?

I present to you the fourth fully fledged render I've done in the last 14 days. This one was tricky due to one of the poses I made just not working out and scrapping it all and starting over. Then there was also the monstrosity to work with which is this characters mf touhou hat! But I kept at it and finally, i have yes, another art to share. Just in time for the months half way mark!

Warden of Eld
Warden of Eld.png

She serves as a jailer of cosmic anomalies and the warden of the Matrix for Apoptosis Mitigation and Internment of Xalatath (or MAMIX if you don't have all day) and is later deployed by the Goddess against evil glitched children after the MAMIX is destroyed.

Thanks to my new tablet Ive been drawing much more than usual, mostly just because my desk is small as hell so I couldnt leave my drawing display connected, and I am to lazy to set it up every time I want to use it, I am missing some features I get with my pc, but it is still more than good enough.

Sorry for double posting, but the edit option doesn't show up for me in this thread
Here is a little halftones test.

No, I realised my tablet's probably a bit too dated. I'm on a Tab A I got back in 2019. I need to update
I recommend the tab s6 lite, the one I got, it's a bit small, only 10.4", but I think its good enough for drawing outside.
For a bit more than 300 dollars you dont only get a pretty decent tablet, but it comes with the spen for free.
Also I just started getting used to mobile krita and found out a couple of the finger signs, tapping the screen with two fingers is the same as ctrl-z, and tapping with 4 activates the full screen canvas mode, which helps a lot with the size of the screen.
