While barely awake this morning-ish and dealing with 500 erors on the site I wastrying to come up with a new pfp and it devolved into just basically mad scribblings in gimp

Somehow despite being extremely rough a lot of these came out more coherent than I thought they would. Might try fleshing them out at some point further since they seem a lot smoother than my usual stuff in terms of perspective/proportions being cleaner, at least IMO looking at them after waking up this afternoon.

And i have a serious question, my friends pushing me towards making t shirt designs and selling them. Obviously they are bias cause they know me, so i want to ask it here. Do you think would these sell? If this or my previuous work would be on a t shirt (slightly off center where the heart should be) would you buy it? I have serious doubt about that.

I started using thicker lines for clothing as recommended and the end result looks way better. I also like the use of pencil strokes for shading, so I kept the rough draft of the picture as a layer. Unfortunately, I had to use some assisted re-tracing because I struggled with drawing the head shapes and it was way too time-consuming. However, once I got the head design I wanted, I just drew the facial features and expressions. I think the sketch still looks flat, and I need to stop using black-grey pencil as a outline for the backgrounds.

Otherwise, I am proud of the effort that I did over a week or two. Criticism is welcome.

It depends on your target demographic and how much you're willing to promote it to them. It's a good drawing, and normies would also certainly enjoy it, but I'm not too sure if they would want to buy a shirt with it.

That are my main worries that it would just not worth the effort to set the whole thing up. Especially if i have no real idea of how to sell anything really.

It looks great. If i had to nitpick i dont get the fold on his right arm. I think it goes for just a bit too far up his shoulder?

Good catch. Thankfully it's an easy patch. I just updated the image while putting the old one inside a spoiler tag. I also added a brownish-orange tint for a bit more consistent harmony with the colors as well as some small fixes.

I hate drawing clothing because I am not good with folds, but it is mostly due to not relying on guides. Now by looking at the guides, the folds on clothing seems to be very formulaic and easy to follow.

You do have skill, you have potential, I see no issue there, just try it.

Decided to try and flesh out three of the more cleaner heads from last morning's barely awake drawing session and it not only took much longer but once again came out a bit too sloppy imo. Still I think it's as clean as I'm gonna get these till I work out a use for them down the line. Honestly I think ever since I adopted this pfp running theme as an inside joke tradition it's been like the most homestuck adjacent shit I've done drawing wise in my life ever.

Reminds me of Metal Heart by Accept. In fact, that's a lot cooler than the cover art they used. I think it's worth a try.

Been working on this on and off for a few weeks, finally had the motivation to finish it. Bad quality pics because I don't own an image scanner.

This is like my third time posting progress on these but on the brght side they're all pretty much done save for some shading on the other 2 So I probably won't post another unless I draw something else vaguely related, which I very well might!

Also decded on whch one to make my new pfp. Though t's a little bit too "purely nepeta" for my shitposter personality and tastes I've been at this for nearing 5 years now (it does not feel like it!) so guess in a way you could consider this a shitposty "the rot and corrosion from fucked up stagnation and dedication to a running avi inside joke has gotten worse" meta humor type of deal lmao.
Maybe I'm just tired of seeing constant current year-ified subversions of funny characters in the wild online, that could be another explanation.


Edit: Forgot to brng this up. I WAS gong to include a shitpost thing with out of place colored A10 eyes but decided against it since it's been done so much as funny as it is. Might use it later still, who knows?
