"Post your Art" Thread

Lately this uploader doesn't want to play ball with my .png files. so I'm stuck with an outsider source for now, but here's my weekly junk!

I am in an art funk rn, my job is to draw cute things and I had to draw some cute animals and then the client said they looked too goofy and not enough cute. I had to redo everything, the remakes came out better and now I'm doing another batch and they all look like they have down syndrome.
The very first batch I did was like, perfect. First character I drew the client loved to bits, it was going to be made into a figure (but then we kicked the 3d guy off the project because he wasn't producing quality work.)

That last one reminds me of one of those images that you're supposed to see something in if you stare at it long enough..... but I could never get those to work. The other two bring back memories of my old spirograph toy... or however it was spelled, (too lazy to google).

It reminds me of the scene from that Page Master movie when the ceiling mural melts into the colour flood.

They mean jagged pixelated edges. Like so...

Not only that. If you go into spectral theory you'll learn it's not limited to edges.

Long story short, the creation process you are using introduce noise in an extent that is very noticeable.
It could be reduced by creating with a higher resolution and resizing to 25-40% of the original size, or better, find out at what step it is introduced and change it.

I like the noise and jag though I like to imagine the things I make looking like color floating and dispersing in water.

Some people have their interests I noticed. I use to had a thing with not liking to see jagged lines since I knew it was done on a computer (and this was 30 years back mind you), now it's almost like an old pal to me!

Random noise is one thing. Aliasing can create weird shapes.

I would favor adding noise once you are done if that is what you like.
At least you would control what you are doing.

They say write what you know, drawing what you know counts too.

Spent several years in the mid 0o's as a third-shifter, out driving a tow truck, so this was my world.

Rain sucks. But I don't dare say that or nature will remind me that freezing rain is worse, and two feet of Pennsylvania's-Finest snow is WORSE than that.

It's the 21st Century, everyone in your family, including the dog, has their own webpage, and even your coffee pot is GPS-equipped, so how in the world can you have NO IDEA where you are when you call me for help? We got to THE MOON using nothing but three blinking lights and a room full of ashtrays.... HOW can you NOT know the name of the ROAD you are on? I've been trying to find you in this boondock for HALF AN HOUR! And my cell calls keep hitting your voicemail.... *sigh* Breathe deep... wait for the train.... breathe deep... wait for the train.

Not a "real" city, but, both Philly and Pittsburgh were in mind when I drew it. The perspective on some of those buildings is pretty dire, but it was more for the practice of getting the color/lighting effects at night right anyway. I did a few tows where it was light when I got to the pick-up location, dark at the drop-off, and light again when I got back (it's not common, but a few folks will pay their motorclubs for unlimited miles)

I really like your work, I'm a PA resident as well and your art reminds me of my own long car rides.
