I do them frame by frame in Paint.NET and just turn them into a gif later with http://gifcreator.me/

Paint.net has a nifty feature where you can switch between two different images with Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab which makes things easier.

While I can't really attest to the joys of drawing faun asses, I will say drawing ugly faces is ridiculously fun.

4 eyes coloring. Flash is a real pain for doing things like details and shading, but it's also a convenience for doing coloring at the same time. Must find a way to shade and color simply and stylized enough to where it looks appealing.
