Knowing Hunger, I'd say that took 22 minutes and 36 seconds.

Wait, no, actually, she stated it was a doodle, so I'd say 5 minutes and 2 seconds.

Haha, thanks! Well, I'm going to guesstimate that it took about 20 or so minutes like Hunter said, since it was during class and I worked on it in-between taking notes. It's not that big of a picture since it was doodled on the corner of printer paper. ^^

I'm not really sure when I really started drawing. I have sketchbooks from preschool; however, I believe I started to actually expand in my skill after I graduated high school. Although, I would really like to get better at digital art, but I keep going back to graphite and paper. ^^;

Wow dang, I need to step up my game with sketches for sure hahah. Thank you for the answer though! Do you have a tablet or anything? If not, I'm sure there are cheap ones you could start out with. They may not be preferable at first, but it's a good way to get your feet wet with digital, so to speak.

Not a problem! I have Photoshop CS3 Extended and one of these tiny Bamboo Tablets:

It's about 4 or so years old now and has been acting up lately, so I've been thinking about getting a new one. I've also been thinking about trying out Sai since I've seen some awesome artwork made with that program. ^^

I've never worked with Photoshop, but I've used Sai since 2009 along with one of those bamboo tablets (I guess mine's just as old as yours), and I've made some mad decent stuff with it. It sucks that I haven't been able to use it ever since I found out how to use layers.

But yeah, Sai's a great program. Really easy to work with and works great with tablets (yes, I've used programs that didn't really work with a tablet. Sensitivity issues, and what not).

Bamboos last a remarkably long time, it seems. I got mine back in early 2008 or so and it worked great for me up to late 2012, even with the wires poking their way out of the cable. And Sai IS a great program, you really do need to get it! I like Photoshop myself but Sai's selection capabilities are a lot better, especially when you just want to get base colors done quickly with the bucket tool.

And true, I thinkkk(?) that Sai is the one program really built around and for tablet use. One issue though, that I've heard, is that pressure sensitivity doesn't work at first until they change something in either their tablet or Sai settings? I've tried to use Sai before but for some reason the tracking is off to my tablet and it's just a bother.

Thanks for the input! I'll definitely look into giving Sai a try as soon as I can. Probably sometime this weekend since I don't have much going on.
