I missed this website. Here’s a doodle of Fay ready to go a-huntin’.
 
I bought an old Galaxy Tab A with the SPen, and I have been practicing recently. The age of the tablet is showing because it can't keep up with the line flow

I have a new phone, which means a new empty canvas. Unfortunately, I've been on a dry spell since July and can't seem to draw much of anything. For now, have a wip.

Here's an old portrait I've drawn.

This was made in the spring of 2021.
With portraits, and general illustration for that matter, I would say that my strengths are contours and shape and my weakness are texture and depth. This may or may not be evident in the above work.

Portrait drawing, like the rest of art for me, is very sporadic and infrequent. I do it when I feel like it. But with every portrait I try to remedy my weaknesses. In more recent work, I've found that with the tools I have (pencil, pen, eraser), the key to good texture and depth is a light wrist and lots of time. Though I can't say I've produced a work that overcomes my weaknesses yet.

Maths dominates my usual concerns, so it has occurred to me to consider making art using mathematics. I thought about this over the summer and I have some ideas. Whenever they mature into a proper work, I'll post them here.
