Here's character I was working on over the past few months. I haven't really drawn much because I've been spending a lot of time thinking about what I want to actually spend time on for a bigger project.

I probably won't do anything more with this guy as he doesn't fit with what I want to do in the future, so for now I'll just leave him here:

He does seem to fit into lore of one of my things tho. At least visually and if you'll replace cross with something else.

Speaking of. Hopefully I've got a time to draw this guy.

Supposed to be the exiled priest of once-holy order that fell to the ruinous powers. No it have nothing to do with Warhammer.

As I'm preparing some works and WIPs which may or may not be posted soon, I'm posting some old doodles that I made when I was younger in HS.

To start, I used to be very fixated on machines, robots, or computerized things in general and loved doodling and drawing things of that variety. I used computers a lot and, before and at the time of doing these, I read a lot of works featuring sentient robots/artificial intelligence (Asimov's robot series, Lem's Cyberiada (The Cyberiad) to name some) and particularly enjoyed other media featuring them. Try to guess what media some of these may have been influenced by, there's one or two off the top of my head which I know I was inspired by.

The barhead; I think this was less appealing than its simplistic predecessor:

Machineface - Even though it was doodled, it came out looking very human; it looks like it has an expression, but its hard to say what it is. I like this one.

Then there are doodles with less mechanical elements.

Here are some miscellaneous abstract robots to top off this dump

There are a bunch more doodles that I have, but these are ones I found the most remarkable and tasteful years later; the others are either less fleshed out or are otherwise ones I find a bit less likeable. I've since been making sketches in sketchbooks and I might post those too at somepoint.

Oil pastel study of a hilariously over-the-top page from the comic Melting Pot- This was just a "fuck it, let's mess around in an afternoon" piece so its very rough. I kind of want to go back in with acrylic paint and make it better once I have more Fuck-Around time. There's a lot that's proportionally off from the original. So this might be a Part 1!

Finally had some time to do more work on this and now I'm kind of amazed how bad the first looks in comparison. In the end I went about this in a sort of dumb way- on top of those initial pastels I used acrylic paint and then did some extra finishing details with...oil pastels.
But in the end I like the look of the pastels on top of the paint and will probably do that again for other pieces (that have less dicks in them)
