Sry, mate, I kinda gave up halfway.

Here are some sketches for independent WIPs that I'm working on.
Since I anticipate I may be posting more of these, even if not frequently, I shall indicate that these concepts/designs in this post and in some of the previous posts -namely [1], [2], [3]- have been associated with a canon with worldbuilding that I'm developing on and off. I will be referring to this as Canon [A] or simply [A].

wip_robot_prototype.webp
The immediate above is a robot/synthoid of a prototype or precursor generation of its own kind. In [A], the synthoids of this kind are purposed to be sentient, collective probes created by an advanced civilization which catalogue phenomena and [geological] bodies in the universe. They also seek to find and observe lifeforms .
Of some notable physical characteristics of its kind: They typically bear a "window" or large aperture on the upper part of their body for advanced imaging as well a robust photoreceptor array for panoramic awareness. They perform spatial translation via anti-gravity engines in order to move throughout galaxies and perform fine movements.

This sketch is actually of a particular character which has more sapience and individualistic thought than its relatively newer counterparts. Previously, it was intended to be an antagonistic entity in the context it's being written for since its window has a shape reflects some malignance. Despite the change of role, I kept the element because it would reflect a sort of propensity for calculated malevolence or scornfulness.

There were two paper sketches made before this:

This one above is not of the WIP character, but it is of another character of the same kind. This is [intended to be] a comparatively "friendlier"/procedural individual of an advanced generation a few millennia newer than the other.

Also, there was one attempt to digitally realize the concept some time ago, but my execution of it was somewhat poor. There were some elements I didn't like on it and it felt too cluttered or geometrically complex with all the components attached to it:

rp_obs.webp

So since I got better at digital works, I decided I would redo it. With the WIP, I really like that I made the cylindrical body more faceted instead since it makes it feel appropriate to the characterization of the specific being.

I've also been pinning down which aspects I used from other designs. I think the design of this race of robots/synthoids was inspired by a few things in media, those being V.I.N.C.E.N.T. and Maximilian (mainly the former) from The Black Hole as well as Nomad from Star Trek, specific episode being The Changeling. One might think there might be some idea from the Daleks, but probably not so much in the visual sense and moreso in the functional/operational or systematic/collective characteristics.

wip_xenoarchaid_ancient.webp
The immediate above is a pair of front references for the male (left) and female (right) variants of a xenoarchaid race. This race is an anaturon race (An anaturon is my term for a being of artificial origins, i.e. something initially produced artificially. Additionally, a naturon may or may not be organic and it may or may not have the ability to reproduce) which were a part of a relatively ancient civilization in [A].
While being very advanced, this civilization discovers a process to convert some of themselves into "ascendant forms," but some members of this race decide to refuse the process to instead disperse and live in small colonies or places in the universe.

Originally, the idea (or motivation) for this race, in terms of its characteristics, came from a short dream. This dream was admittedly fairly different from the current state of worldbuilding to which this race is associated: In the dream, I was a character set in world, in essence, with some sentient creatures with powers which could magically bond or ally themselves to people, somewhat like Pokemon in a sense except these creatures were not kept in balls and could come to speak my language as part of the bond.
At one point, I tried adapting this dream to one canon I had going, but after some progress, I decided to change the context to be more realistic and less fantastical on account of a decision to merge two canons, them being this fantastical/sci-fi one and another one of "harder" sci-fi. So on that decision, I dropped the stuff about bonding in the process and reassigned the roles of the races instead.

Anyways, I had the original depiction of this specific race to be more like gentle healers, with plant-like characteristics not too visually dissimilar from the Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir pokemon.
This resemblance can probably be seen in these initial sketches of the female variant below:

I didn't like the fact these sketches retained some of characteristics, particularly the head crest. So I tried to reduce it in later sketches, to which I developed the visual dimorphism with the male variant:

ancient_sk2.webp
Immediately above are prototypes for the torso and other parts of extremities. I liked the sort of ribbons/stalks and fibrous appearance from the first sketches, as I think it succeeds in conveying a sort of delicate or elegant look, but I believed the whole thing needed to be simplified, as least when drawing out the naked form. One thought is that the ribbons could very well be potentially depicted as clothing instead. Anyways, I then used the female form as the base for the male form, after which I would have the male body to have some prickly features added to it. Not sure why I did it, but I think it could be excused as a sort of sexually attractive feature when/if I get to fleshing out the biological characteristics.

ancient_sk3.webp
In the immediate above, I tried fleshing out the limbs and the heads for the variants. I ended up wanting some sort of tripodal feet and tripodal hands on long limbs while keeping some segments around the joints; it keeps the features looking plant-like and the feet & hands would look somewhat like roots. It can be seen I had some attempts at developing the male head before I ended up liking the one with the big dome. It can be seen that I accepted this female head, but I didn't particularly like the pointy crest for the unspoilered, new sketch because it still seemed like it was an easily derivative feature. To try to rectify this in the WIP sketch, one can see I tried some inspiration from the male head and added a small dome (or rather, a droplet) to dull the point.

One can also see that I experimented with another pair of arms. I thought that this could be a race with this feature, but I ended up ditching it, at least for these beings. I actually wanted a design for a race which actually had four arms or another sort of limbs, since the concept itself would fascinating for a large (perhaps human-sized) organism, but consideration of the placement of the limbs is an issue and I conjectured that many potential beings/xenoarchaids would likely not evolve to have more limbs than necessary due to the added energy that would probably be needed in actually using the limbs and so would be selected out for those with reduced extremities. The feature could be indicative of advancement and I might still revisit it, but I have another xenoarchaid race which I've sketched with more limbs which I may or may not consider posting at some point.

As a last bit, I will keep the orb/oval in the chest a mystery.

I would not consider this my "art" in the traditional sense, I just took a copyright free image in order to make 3 logos as a concept idea for marking AI generated content.

An idea would be for places like Steam, where you'd put this in order to quickly see if the game had AI assistance, then in a dropdown, all characteristics using it would be disclosed (e.g: character models' initial design made by AI).

haven't le posted in here in a while

DECISIVE PROTIST VICTORY
:story: That's it, I'm drawing your character.
She even has a pharyngeal jaw. On one hand, :winner: for attention to detail; on the other, that is creepy as hell. :cryblood:

It's been awhile since I've done another Suhail and Atria drawing.

JESUS!
A Lunar Eclipse Paradox sketch that has hands?! That's goddamn rare. And credit where it's due - this one has intrigue to it. Nice work.

edit: art tax.

Here is My Two design,I wanted him to be more of a living morale on Body Dysmorphia as having the scarring being what made him the monster he is today takes away the responsibility from him becoming TwoFace. I made him a plastic surgeon too and based him off of Longlegs.

for a very long time I’ve been obsessed with making Two Face’s deformed side his own doing due to excess botched plastic surgery. I feel it adds more to his obsession with fate and his image

Having his “normal” side being the one that was scarred and the one he thinks is ugly is another point of contention. The more he “fixed” his right side the more repulsed people became,so he did more work on it until he became the man he is today.

That’s also why the coin is rusted instead of scratched The more he adds onto himself the less recognizable he is
