Absolutely, thank you!
I think part of the problem is the devhytes (monster things) aren't *supposed* to look human, but like a slightly offputting humanoid type thing. Think gnolls from dnd. I know what they look like in my head but putting it to paper is the tricky part. They're supposed to have smaller heads where their neck gets progressively larger like a gnoll because of the horns on females.

Another thing I think people are picking up that gives the drawing a fetishy look is I tend to focus on specific parts I struggle with, so I'll focus on hands, chest (on both sexes) leg/thigh, mouth, ears, etc. I def struggle a lot more at drawing from images because I think I over correct, but I should absolutely do it more. I'll doodle some actual proper monsters to prove I'm just bad at humanoids, lmao. I swear I can draw properly! Just not humanoid.
The cloth and collar bones are a gigantic help though. I think I struggle mostly with where the fuck I want perspective to be on humans, so I puzzle piece parts until I'm happy with how the sections look, but they don't necessarily look good *together*.

Edit: some 5 min each animal sketches + goofy char sketch

I dont know if this marker thing is really working for me, I didn't really like my recent drawing and coloring of it so I thought why not just do shadows with them, which seems to be better idea.

Rough fucking sketch I shat out last night as a kinda sorta reaction to some shit that went down in DMs. Might clean up later.

I love this. You're very talented and everything in this image is perfect.

Is this fully digital, or pen and then cleaned up digitally?
It is digital but I did sketch it out first just to find the correct angle and composition
at first i wanted him to do the slav squat with the kiwi on his shoulder but stopped myself since i wanted to include the computer in the pic and him squatting means it should be on the ground which is kinda lame.

as you can see it changed through the process of redrawing
and then started the long, meticulous and autistic process

the kiwi was definitely the most challenging part

Love the detailed breakdown, thank you! The slav squat would've been funny, but yeah that would have left the rest out. I really like that you went with that fish eye sort of perspective, too.

will i defeat digital painting, or will it defeat me? does it even matter? does life have inherent meaning? the answer to all three questions is yes. or no? yes.
