Well, to be honest, outside of The Real Sonichu, I haven't done anything serious in years.

Back in 2009, I started working in a collections all the way through the summer of 2011, and that job pretty much killed me from the inside-out. Still, in between calling up people and being yelled at in Spanish, in hillbilly, and 32-flavors of New England, I spent my waking hours working on those art trading cards I think were popular a while ago. Dunno if they still are - I'm in the far end of civilization where people think Terry Redlin is the pinnacle of art.

So, here are a few samples of my work before I went into a self-imposed exile of creativity and generally giving a shit.

Bottom got cut off in the scanner, but whatever. Micron and Prismacolor on Bristol cards.

So, one thing I can be thankful to Chris- he actually got me out of my slump. I better get back into drawing more stuff though else people will start thinking I'm an anthro artist by trade.

I don't know where exactly this is headed but I know I'm having fun with the idea.

G-G-G-G-GHOSTS! I've loved ghosts ever since I was little and I've been a huge ghost shows nerd since I found "Most Haunted" on the Discovery Channel years back. I also really enjoy different cultures' takes on the spirit world.

A lot of these aren't final designs; kind of stuck on how to make Suitman look a bit more menacing, and I know the Japanese spirit is incredibly generic so there's a lot to figure out. No matter what, it's been fun coming up with ideas for them as I go!

okay my "procrastination pile" as i call that big paper slushpile that mutates daily, has apparently eaten some of my recent doodles and draws, but i'll dig them up soonish.

not to copy anyone else's idea (i had been offline for about a week anyway), but for a while i thought "why not add a stupid sparklewuff comic to my slushpile of comic ideas i'll probably never get around to?" the idea is i improvise it and just do it with black sharpies and crayola markers. just for fun. and because i have those.

so here's SOME stuff. i swear i had more... i threw some stuff away because it sucked.

i called it "wolves have interesting lives" (whil) because sarcasm. yeah, i don't have pictures of them right now but first it was gonna be about two "sparklewolves" (actually floodfilled orange and green), named roog and vert. so picture two cartoon wolves in orange and green, and that's them. then i thought, naw man, wolves just don't have interesting lives. how about the kind of girl who likes sparklewolves? yes. so our heroine is a 14 year old girl named becky with some superficially mary sue traits (pink eyes, purple clothing, "quirky"). so on the very surface it's kind of a parody of sparklewolves and wolfy girls, a little bit, kinda, sorta.

it's all about becky and her pals having fun and being spontaneous.

the blue wolf is named slate. guess what.

and i just want to DO IT and FINISH SOMETHING in my life, and have fun.

as for the markers, i've taken to flushing out the inks of crayola markers (10 pks), mixing what i want, and refilling the markers. i'll make a post of that sometime. maybe if i actually do a freakin' comic for once, you'll see me gradually get better, more efficient, and more colors pop in as i gradually get more markers and vials and colors mixed.
